Plans to build a temple in or near Vancouver were announced at the Church's 193rd [[General Conference (LDS Church)|semiannual General Conference]] on October 1, 2023 by [[President of the Church (LDS Church)|Church President]] [[Russell M. The location of the temple was announced on February 26, 2024 at a 15.11 acre site at SE 20th Street and SE Bybee Road.
