After rumors did the rounds online, we got official word that Steven Yeun would no longer appear in Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts* movie back in January, with Top Gun: Maverick and Salem's Lot actor Lewis Pullman signing on as his replace net shortly after.
Though the character Yeun was going to play still hasn't been confirmed, The Walking Dead and Invincible creator Kirkman came right out and said: "My good friend Steven Yeun is playing the Sentry in a movie" some time later.
“Yeah, he called me, he went in for a costume fitting. I hope I’m not… I don’t think this is a spoiler or anything that will get anybody in trouble. I don’t know, maybe. We’ll see. I don’t care. I don’t work for Marvel. What are they going to do to me? He called me and he said, 'I just came back...

After making a bold claim about Thunderbolts* at the Sdcc, David Harbour further ups the hype for the film with another update. Harbour has shared that none of the anti-heroes of the film are in a good place at the start of the film. From Harbour and the rest of the cast’s comments, it appears that the film will avoid one major mistake committed by DC’s Suicide Squad.

One of the coolest and most beloved sub-genres for thriller, action, and drama fans is the spy genre and there’s a good reason. In a spy film or series, we get complicated and cool characters who put their lives on the line by going against numerous people and instead of always letting their guns talk they use more covert tactics, which are always thrilling to watch. So, Netflix being what it is, it has a large library of content and also some of the best spy shows you can find and that’s what inspired us to compile a list of the best spy shows you can watch on Netflix right now.

After a series of screenshots and the audio, the first full trailer for Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts* has finally leaked online following its recent debut during D23.
The footage begins with Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) paying a visit to Red Guardian (David Harbour) to tell her adoptive father that there's "something wrong" with her, as she no longer feels fulfilled by her work.
We then get quick shots of Ghost, John Walker/U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), and Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko) as they all converge in the same location and begin to fight it out to the strains of The Pixies' "Where is my Mind."
Yelena comes to the realization that they have all been sent to the same place in the hopes that they'll take each other down, which is when we meet "Bob" (Lewis Pullman). We don't seem him in Sentry mode, unfortunately, but rumor has it that he...

Someone out there has a recording of the Thunderbolts* trailer shown at last month's San Diego Comic-Con and, right now, it appears the idea is to release it frame-by-frame.
The next round of screengrabs has hit social media this morning, anyway, starting with a new look at Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost. Now decked out in a black costume with a white mask, this is a drastic overhaul when compared to her appearance in both Ant-Man and The Wasp and the comics (where she is a he).
On the plus side, the lights on each side of the helmet do pay homage to the source material.
We never got to learn what became of Ava after Scott Lang travelled into the Quantum Realm to find her life-saving quantum energy, so assuming she wasn't among those Blipped, the villain may have continued down the dark path she was already on...

She must fight time, the police and criminal underworld to save the only person who means something to her. The mastermind behind it all is crime lord Silvio and his vicious gangsters who forces Karina and Covek, a deadly killer threatened by him, to go on a journey against time. Marvel had a rough year in 2023. Many of its properties underperformed, and they lost their big villain due to Jonathan Majors being fired. Looking forward to their upcoming slate, comic fans have been excited about some of the studio’s projects over the next few years. Will these films help Marvel regain control? The upcoming Thunderbolts film has been one that fanboys have been hoping to see since the MCU started. With some recent news about the property coming up, it seems like the right time to break down what we know about the production.
Who Are The Thunderbolts?
The team first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1997 in an issue of The Incredible Hulk. They seemed to be a new group of superheroes that had arrived on the scene and gained acclaim very quickly. The reader was informed that the group was actually a group of supervillains led by Baron Zemo.

Marvel Studios hyped up Thunderbolts* at this weekend's San Diego Comic-Con, but the decision not to release the trailer online has seen the movie largely overshadowed by the other upcoming MCU releases showcased in Hall H.
The cast came out on stage alongside David Harbour suited up as Red Guardian, though the name of Geraldine Viswanathan's mysterious character was never revealed. However, thanks to an official video shared by Marvel Studios, we now know she's called "Mel."
It should go without saying that, after putting the pieces together, the only logical explanation is that the actress is playing Melissa Gold, a.k.a. Songbird.
Whether she'll have the same supersonic sound abilities as her comic book counterpart remains to be seen.
Songbird, originally known as Screaming Mimi, debuted in the pages of Marvel Two-in-One #54 in 1979. She was created by Mark Gruenwald, Ralph Macchio, and John Byrne, later...

We learned a lot more about Thunderbolts during Marvel’s presentation at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, but Florence Pugh dropped one more tidbit while speaking with Variety. When asked what was the most “massive stunt” she did in the upcoming Marvel movie, Pugh said, “Jumping off the second tallest building in the world” before making a quick exit.
For the record, the second tallest building in the world is Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. At 678.9 m, only the Burj Khalifa in Dubai is taller, at 828 m. During the Thunderbolts Comic-Con panel, Pugh said, “I think we all feel cool doing stunts… This movie is so wonderful and bizarre, and it’s very brave and it’s because of this cast.“

Not much was made about Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes sporting a gray, bespoke suit in May set photos from Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts*.
However, we have to look at them in a brand new light as it's been revealed at Sdcc that Bucky is now a Congressman.
If you recall, in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Barnes was unsure of what he should be doing with his life. With The Avengers disbanded and Steve Rodgers aged-up and out of the picture, Bucky was kind of left to drift in the wind.
However, per a Sdcc interview with Wyatt Russell (US Agent) and Stan it's been revealed that The Winter Solider is wearing finer threads these days because he's a lawmaker that works on Capitol Hill.

Marvel’s next superhero team couldn’t be more different from the Avengers. Instead of Captain America and Hawkeye, they have U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell) and Red Guardian (David Harbour). Instead of Black Widow, they have Florence Pugh’s White Widow. Instead of Iron Man, they have Ant-Man and the Wasp antagonist, Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen).
In other words, Thunderbolts are a team full of B- and C-listers, baddies and supporting characters from other movies and shows who get assembled into a team by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, the shady CIA director played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Even though they don’t command the same name recognition as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the Thunderbolts are at least familiar to MCU fans. Well, except for one. And, nestled among the announcements on the night, we also finally got confirmation that Lessons In Chemistry star Lewis Pullman will star in Thunderbolts*.

There’s a new team coming to the MCU, and no, it’s not the Fantastic Four. But we’re talking about “Thunderbolts,” which had some light shed on it during Marvel’s Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con this year.
The movie reunites “Black Widow” stars Florence Pugh and David Harbor as Yelena Belova and Red Guardian respectively, and teams them up with a whole slew of Marvel returners, including Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Wyatt Russell, Sebastian Stan, Hannah John-Kamen and Olga Kurylenko, plus newcomer Geraldine Viswanathan.
For those unfamiliar, in the comics, the Thunderbolts team is similar to DC Comics’ Suicide Squad in that it is a team of villains completing dangerous missions for the government.
In the Comic-Con-exclusive footage, which was soundtracked to “Where Is My Mind” by Pixies, we begin at night, in what looks like an isolated house, where Yelena knocking on the door. Turns out,...

Marvel’s newest super-team, the Thunderbolts, made their San Diego Comic-Con debut on Saturday via first-look footage — and a relatively tight-lipped cast — during the MCU panel.
The entire cast joined the Hall H stage with Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige, including David Harbour in costume as Red Guardian. But his colleagues didn’t get the memo. “Oh my god, you guys didn’t dress up?,” Harbour exclaimed. “Guys! Guys! I sent that email! We all said we were going to dress up because it was Comic-Con!” Harbour quickly left to change.
While info about the movie was kept to a minimum, some select nuggets included:
*Feige’s revelation that the group’s moniker isn’t related to Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, saying that sometimes comic book writers just use the same names.
*Of her character, Julia Louis-Dreyfus said, “Valentina is after power, control and, I would say, just generally she wants...

There's a lot of excitement for The Sentry's MCU debut in Thunderbolts* next year, particularly as the character could be a game-changer for this franchise moving forward.
He is, after all, one of the Marvel Universe's most powerful superheroes and supervillains, with the unhinged Robert Reynolds heading down the latter route when his alter-ego, The Void, takes control.
Lewis Pullman is playing The Sentry in Thunderbolts* and we now have some rumoured new details about his role in the movie.
According to scooper Daniel Richtman, there's a "good explanation" for why he doesn't just kill the likes of Yelena Belova and Bucky Barnes when they run into him. The Sentry, who no doubt views himself as a hero, supposedly has a no-kill rule, meaning he "just kicks their asses."
As for exactly how powerful the McU's Sentry will be, Richtman claims he's, "Superman-level strong."

Black Widow star David Harbour has taken to Instagram to confirm he's wrapped shooting on Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts*. The actor has also shared what appears to be a vintage propaganda poster featuring Red Guardian at the height of the Cold War.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, has confirmed that Thunderbolts* "just wrapped last week."
While reshoots are undoubtedly on the horizon, this is welcome news considering it wasn't too long ago when members of the cast openly admitted they had no idea when production would begin. Of course, last year's strikes played a role in that, and Marvel Studios now has just shy of a year to get Thunderbolts* where they want it.
Similar to other recent interviews, Louis-Dreyfus refused to give any plot details away or reveal what the deal is with that asterisk.
The actress did say she, "Loved [the production]," adding: "I got to work with really cool people, who we already know are in the film. Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Lewis Pullman, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell. It was pretty dreamy."
Elsewhere in her conversation with Josh Horowitz, Louis-Dreyfus looked back at being enlisted for this MCU role.

In a recent interview, Thunderbolts* star Julia Louis-Dreyfus confirmed that she had finished filming her scenes as the scheming Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, but was hesitant to discuss the movie in any more detail.
However, the Seinfeld alum was a little more forthcoming while speaking to The New York Times, suggesting that Thunderbolts* might be more character-focused than we expected.
"It's very well organized. Very methodical. And I don't mean that in a negative way," Louis-Dreyfus said of her time working on the Marvel Studios' team-up film. "Particularly on this film, they're very much focused on, frankly, the human story, believe it or not. They're trying to sort of go back to their roots, as it were. And so there's a lot of focus on that. They're trying to stay away from as much CGI or whatever as possible, so that the stunts are, like, everywhere. And in fact,...
Though Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts* is still shooting, Julia Louis-Dreyfus has finished filming her scenes as the scheming Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.
The Seinfeld star revealed that she had now wrapped on the movie, although she declined to share any more details when asked if she performed any stunts while working on the project.
"I don’t know if you’re familiar with the Marvel Universe, but when you join it, you sign your life away in an NDA. So, if I say anything to you right now, I will be executed by the universe."
Does this indicate that Val will have a smaller role in the movie than we'd been led to believe? Not necessarily, but she was never likely to have as much screen time as the characters who make up the team, and we're hearing that the movie is scheduled to wrap within the next couple of weeks,...

Mark Wahlberg has led one too many daunting projects that are spread across multiple genres, with video game-based action pieces being among them as well.
Like his 2008 action/crime from Irish director John Moore, Max Payne, for one to count, which may have received lukewarm reviews but was quite a successful piece when it comes to its box office scores, especially in the US.

Needless to say, Wahlberg performed epically in the movie; to the point where, perhaps, no one could play the character in live-action better. That said, even Moore thought through this very perspective before making the movie.
If anything, the filmmaker just may have even canceled his $80 million movie, perhaps, had the actor not signed on to star in it.

Marvel Studios has done a pretty good job of keeping a lid on the upcoming Thunderbolts* movie, right down to that mysterious asterisk that was added to the title just before filming began. We've been able to piece a few things together via leaks and cast interviews, but for the most part, the project remains shrouded in secrecy.
Now, some new story details have found their way online. There's nothing too revealing here - and there's a decent chance this much, at least, will be highlighted in the first trailer - but if you'd rather know as little as possible, here's your spoiler warning.
According to Daniel Richtman, the movie will begin with Yelena Belova, US Agent, Ghost and Taskmaster being sent by Contessa Valentina Allegra De Fontaine to take out an unknown target "in a vault." We don't know who this character is, but the crew soon realize that...

Ever since Florence Pugh made her Hollywood debut in 2014, she has been on a meteoric rise. The actress has been cast in a wide variety of films, making her one of the most prolific actors of this generation. In her relatively short career, she has already been a household name, when she joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2021 when she made her debut as Yelena Belova in Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow.

The film was a hit as it was different from other Marvel projects, featuring a grounded spy action film set during the Cold War period. The actress has secured a safe spot in the superhero franchise as she has already earned more than Tom Holland in just two Marvel projects!

Does the * in Thunderbolts*'s title = Black Widow 2?
According to trusted scooper Alex Perez, "Thunderbolts* is "just a Black Widow sequel the same way Civil War was a Captain America sequel... Yelena’s handling Red Room remnants and then gets sidetracked with Thunderbolts*."
Seeing as Thunderbolts* features characters like Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, and Taskmaster, we've long suspected it would be heavily tied to Black Widow. Bucky and U.S. Agent's presence on the team also creates a significant link to The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
The Hollywood Reporter may have even confirmed this in a new piece which reveals, "[Florence] Pugh, 28, earned an eight-figure payday for two Marvel films, first the Scarlett Johansson-led Black Widow then Thunderbolts, where she will be at the top of the call sheet."
While many fans are disappointed to see the classic Thunderbolts roster sidelined in the MCU, Yelena is incredibly popular and...

Marvel Studios originally enlisted The Walking Dead and Beef star Steven Yeun to play The Sentry in Thunderbolts*. However, after supposed scheduling conflicts led to the actor leaving the movie, Top Gun: Maverick's Lewis Pullman was quickly enlisted to replace him.
Talking to Josh Horowitz, Pullman refused to confirm whether he's joined the movie (he has) but praised the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
"You know, I think the MCU is always something that I've watched and felt like is a beautiful world that is kind of untouchable," he started. "I think there is something about joining that world which is similar to joining television in that whenever somebody joins in, you want it to be as a character you can live in for a long time and an aspect of the world you want to be in."
Horowitz continued pushing Pullman for details, going so far as to show him...
