- Commander Paul Stevenson: Oh, uh, one more thing, Mr. Braden, you don't get captured.
- Lt. j.g. Kenneth M. Braden: Mm-hmm. I wouldn't think of it, sir.
- Lt. j.g. Kenneth M. Braden: How come they call you Weary?
- Weary: That's my name.
- Lt. j.g. Kenneth M. Braden: Nickname?
- Weary: No, sir, my real name. I'm the youngest of 13 children. I guess when I was born, my mother couldn't think of another name.
- Lt. Pat Malone: [watching another submarine entering the base] Wahoo. Now there's a sewer pipe I'd give up a month's leave to serve on.
- Lt. Phil Carney: You could do a lot worse than the Barracuda, Pat.
- Lt. Pat Malone: Sure, Phil. Maybe I could get a transfer to the Monitor or the Merrimack, too.
- [laughs]
