When the San Diego Comic-Con moderator of the “Project K” Hall H panel said this was the first Indian film to ever come to through the convention, it almost seemed impossible. But some haphazard googling confirmed it’s true, not counting bootlegs from back in the day when those vendors were still allowed here.

He delivered various projects, some of which were recognized in the festival circuit, and some were epic blockbusters with a multistar cast (“Asoka” and

By now, we all know that Shah Rukh Khan is playing a dwarf in the much talked about Aanand L Rai's untitled film. Although Shah Rukh Khan has been finalised as the film's leading man, there were no details available about the film's heroine. If the buzz is to be believed, then, the film's heroine will be none other than Kareena Kapoor Khan, who has apparently given the nod for the film, but is yet to sign the dotted lines. Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, who were last seen in Ra.One, have together done films like Luck By Chance, Don, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Asoka amongst others. While repeated attempts to reach Aanand L. Rai to confirm the news proved futile, do watch this space for developments.

In December last year we saw the release of the Rohit Shetty directed film Dilwale featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. The film which was produced by Red Chillies and Rohit Shetty Productions, despite featuring a star studded cast and insane promotions did not perform as expected at the box office. However, now months after its release we hear that Shah Rukh Khan, whose production Red Chillies took over the distribution of the film in India has decided to refund the individual distributors to a certain extent for the losses incurred.
In fact back in 2001 and 2005, Shah Rukh Khan had refunded the individual distributors of his films Asoka (Eros) and Paheli (Utv), after both films underperformed at the box office. As a direct result of the actor's 2001 film Asoka underperforming at the box office, Shah Rukh's subsequent release Chalte Chalte was sold for a much lower price.

Dum Laga Ke Haisha is the latest offering from Yash Raj Films starring Ayushmann Khurrana (Vicky Donor) and debutante Bhumi Pednekar. It also marks Sharat Katariya (of Bheja Fry fame) changing gears from writer to director.
It film features music by Anu Malik (Main Hoon Na), composing after almost two years, his last being Shootout at Wadala. Lyrics have been penned by Varun Grover while vocal talents featured consist of Monali Thakur (‘Sawar Loon’ – Lootera), Papon (‘Tu’ – Bobby Jasoos) and Kumar Sanu (no introduction needed).
The album gets off to a stunner of a start with Moh Moh Ke Dhaage by Papon. The track is very reminiscent of Anu Malik’s more nuanced work in Asoka and Refugee. The orchestration is beautiful as is the haunting melody. Couple with equally beautiful lyrics and a flawless rendition from Papon, the track is any easy winner. ‘Moh Moh Ke Dhaage’ is repeated...

Santosh Sivan, one of India’s most celebrated cinematographers, has been praised for his emotionally engaging cinema and attention to detail. The masterclass hosted by the London Indian Film Festival was an exploration of his works, his inspiration, and the highlights of his career so far through a few chosen clips, and of course a wonderful combination of questions from DJ Nihal and the audience.
Santosh began the evening by sharing with us his earliest images; that of his grandmother who used to sing to paintings and they’d come alive, and thus paintings became his first visual learning language. This led onto further exploration of family influence. While Santosh attended a school dominated by students who were all aiming to be doctors or engineers, he always knew he would go into the arts and was encouraged by a strong family background in the arts, with a grandmother who taught...

Katrina Kaif is no doubt enjoying her huge success within the Indian film industry today. Her latest film Jab Tak Hai Jaan sees her play the role of Meera Thapar, the final Yash Chopra heroine to ever grace the big screen. She is also one of two actresses to be smoking a cigarette in a Yash Chopra film, the other being Parveen Babi in Deewaar (1975). Katrina looks dazzling in Yashji’s final epic and performs her character with conviction. Although she is not the greatest Yash Chopra heroine we have ever seen, she definitely went to great lengths to prove that she is a serious actress and manages to project maturity and solid emotion in Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
In a recent interview with the Hindustan Times, Katrina talked about Jab Tak Hai Jaan and how it feels to be a Yash Chopra heroine. “Personally, it means a lot to star in this film.
