It’s been some time since the announcement of Robert Downey Jr. returning to the MCU as Doctor Doom. Currently, there are no clear details about his character, leading to various theories circulating online about his potential incorporation.
The latest theory shared on X by user Comicodigy cleverly ties together the ending of The Marvels, Doctor Doom, and Monica Rambeau, while also connecting to the ‘Time Runs Out’ storyline, which is a strong candidate for a ‘Doomsday’ adaptation.
The ending of The Marvels sees Monica Rambeau accidentally trapped in a different reality while trying to seal a rift caused by the Universal Neural Teleportation Network. To close the rift, she had to enter it from the other side.
After completing this challenging task, Rambeau awakens in X-Mansion, where she is confronted by an alternate version of her mother, Maria Rambeau, and the Beast.

Since Live with Kelly and Mark offers new but previously recorded shows later in the week, stars Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos can have their long weekends.
The couple often spends this time traveling around the world together, visiting glamorous spots such as London, England, or different places in Italy.
Sometimes, the long-time married couple splits up for different work or charitable events, like when Mark shot a still unknown fall pilot in Atlanta while Kelly spent time with her nieces looking at colleges.
As Monsters and Critics reported, Mark is attending a charity event with his friend Patrick Dempsey, aka McDreamy from Grey’s Anatomy.
The Dempsey Challenge raises money for cancer patients by offering walking, running, and riding challenges, and Mark said he was honored to be able to help.

The Krakoa era of "X-Men" comics saw the mutants of the world build a new homeland on a South Pacific island. The X-Men and their kind went from being feared and hunted to a global superpower, with all the security (and compromises) such a nation takes. To quote Henry Hill (Ray Liotta) in "Goodfellas" — "And now it's all over."
The Krakoan age wrapped earlier in 2024 and the relaunched X-Men line, "From The Ashes," sees mutants again divided and scattered across the globe. One of the stronger series of this new era, so far, is "Uncanny X-Men" (launched in July 2024). Written by the legendary Gail Simone and drawn by David Marquez, the book stars some vagabond ex-x-Men slumming it in Gambit's home state of Louisiana. "Uncanny" is the book most in-tune with how "X-Men" readers are feeling post-Krakoa; they had everything they dreamed of and lost it, so now what's to fight for?...

As far as Marvel’s characters go, the X-Men are undoubtedly one of the most famous and popular ones. Due to the fact that they embody strangeness and advocate accepting and embracing those who are different, they have been accepted by all and that explains their enduring popularity and why we are talking about them so often.
As far as the X-Men, on the other hand, are concerned, one of the most interesting and popular characters is Magneto, a villain, surely, but a character who is so layered and so complex that such a simple label cannot properly describe him as a character.
Magneto has, so far, been played by Sir Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender, and in an old interview with Collider, which was done as part of the promotional tour for an old X-Men movie, Fassbender talked about the character and he revealed some interesting details,...

The X-Men's new era is fully underway, and starting this December, we'll get to experience an epic crossover between two of its three flagship titles in "Raid on Graymalkin."
Left broken and scattered in the wake of Krakoa, the X-Men have since regrouped into distinct teams of their own. In Jed MacKay and Ryan Stegman’s X-Men, Cyclops leads a squad of hardened mutant soldiers out of an abandoned Sentinel factory in Alaska.
Meanwhile, in Gail Simone and David Marquez’s Uncanny X-Men, Rogue attempts to build a new home with her chosen X-family along with a handful of new students down in Louisiana. Their different approaches to the X-Men’s mission erupts into a tense standoff when a plan of action is needed to take down Graymalkin Prison, formerly Xavier’s Institute.
The X-Men’s school has been transformed into a brutal penitentiary for mutants by the callous Dr.

During the ascendancy of superhero cinema in the 2000s, characters like Spider-Man, Iron Man, the X-Men, and Batman were making money hand-over-fist. Comic book fans were pleased that filmmakers were finally adapting notable comic book material more directly, rather than finding sleeker, easier, more "movie-friendly" versions of their favorite characters. It helped that studios were finally willing to put a lot of money into less well-known superhero characters like Iron Man and Thor (considered C-grade characters when their respective movies came out). It also helped that special effects technology had reached an inflection point where depicting superpowers on camera finally looked a little more realistic.
Costume designers also started to put more time and attention into superhero outfits, trying to find costumes that looked practical on a real human body. On the comics page, outlandish costumes look natural. On a flesh-and-blood actor, a lot more nuance is required. Designers started adding texture,...

The Mutants are coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That's right, the X-Men's arrivals are on the horizon, as the Marvel Studios franchise has been slowly laying the groundwork for their entrance into the film series throughout the Multiverse Saga, with nods and references to iconic X-Men characters, themes, and storylines along the way.
But the next phase in that plan to introduce the characters will come in the form of a movie. Yes, Marvel Studios is indeed developing an X-Men movie, with a writer already attached to the project. And with Kevin Feige already confirming that the Mutants Era is here, it's only a matter of time until we meet Marvel's Mightiest Mutants in the form of Charles Xavier's team of superheroes.
Naturally, fans are wondering which of the classic X-Men heroes will be involved in the project. We've seen two live-action iterations of the team thus far,...

When it comes to the greatest endings that do its respective show justice, Breaking Bad‘s Felina is often the first one to cross fans’ minds, and for good reason. But similar wasn’t the case with Jerry Seinfeld’s Seinfeld, which is notable for its polarizing finale that wasn’t received well among its viewers when it first aired.

Similar to AMC’s Breaking Bad, Jon Hamm’s Mad Men was successful in giving fans a satisfying conclusion, and the Unfrosted star too holds it in very high regard.

While the general consensus towards Seinfeld‘s finale has wormed up over the years, when it originally aired, the episode left a sour taste in fans’ mouths, as the main cast ended up in jail in the finale.

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ opened the floodgates for mutants and X-Men in the MCU. Even though mutants were already present in the cinematic universe, X-Men weren’t referenced at all in any serious manner until the release of the latest Deadpool flick.
Professor X technically did debut in the MCU, played by Patrick Stewart in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ but it was a variant that belongs to a different reality altogether and the character was unfortunately killed off by Scarlet Witch.
‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ is brewing a multiversal mashup of characters from all Marvel live-action properties, at least if the rumors are to be believed, and there’s also that upcoming X-Men live-action reboot we can look forward to.
Considering that Professor X is one of the most notable mutants and members of X-Men, fans naturally expect him to appear in all projects, ideally played by James McAvoy.

While Isaac could return to play a version of Apocalypse in Secret Wars, there has been some chatter about the Spider-Verse having a direct connection to the MCU, or at least getting a nod in Secret Wars, perhaps in a similar way that the MCU did in Across the Spider-Verse.

For over half a decade, Capcom joined forces with Marvel to produce a series of fighting games that would influence the genre for years to come. Between 1994 and 2000, seven titles saw arcade halls, bringing fan favorite characters from both universes together for high-octane clashes. This collection preserves those seminal works, reuniting gamers with old friends.
The partnership began in 1994. Led by Street Fighter designer Pom G, X-Men: Children of the Atom brought the mutant brawlers to beating up bad guys in true Capcom style. It introduced air combos and flashy specials that thrilled comic fans. The next year, 1995’s Marvel Super Heroes took the Infinity Gauntlet story to the stage, adding dynamic power-ups to the action. Things got chaotic real fast with 13 characters duking it out.
1996’s X-Men vs. Street Fighter brought the crossover concept, letting Wolverine slash up against Ryu. A tag-team system boosted creativity as players tagged in allies.

Wolverine is one of the most iconic heroes around and I mean both visually and characteristically. He has endured for 50 years in the comics and is now a big-screen powerhouse. He has an instantly recognisable aesthetic whether he is in costume or his street clothes. He even has the ability to change his fatigues on a regular basis and still hold that visual appeal. Sometime last year I did a round-up of his most famous costumes and highlighted some of the best artists to work on each. This is an extension of that, but looking more in-depth at what artists have contributed what visuals to Wolverine body part by body part (which sounds way dirtier than I meant it). By the end of it, I will present to you my top 5 Wolverine artists of all time. I want to preface all of what is about to follow by saying that...

Speak No Evil is the latest upcoming horror film by director James Watkins and veteran actor James McAvoy and the world is very excited for this one as the pre-release reviews are quite great.
James McAvoy in Split | Credits: Universal Pictures
One thing that horror films often use to terrify audiences is to have a huge terrifying figure that can scare people out of their seats. In the case of psychological thrillers (like this film), James McAvoy refused CGI and bulked up instead.
James McAvoy Did All of That “Stupid” Stuff
By the way, we are not calling any of it “stupid” stuff. Those are Mr. McAvoy’s words. Anyways, the Split actor has once again, donned a menacing look for Speak No Evil and his muscular physique is terrifying to behold.

Few moments in cinema history are as tragic as Henry Cavill’s Superman tenure. While he had a controversial start with Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, he grew closer to the audience with subsequent appearances despite the mismanagement issues with the Dceu. He departed the role months after promising a comeback when James Gunn took over.
Cavill’s final appearance was the cameo in the mid-credits scene of Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam. The box office bomb’s only redeeming factor seemed to be this tease for further Superman appearances. However, fans still seem to question the events of the film as it positions Amanda Waller as the highest power in the Dceu.

The filmmakers behind Lover of Men, the new documentary examining whether former President Abraham Lincoln may have been gay, are proud of the film that they made, regardless of the trolling from conservative pundits.
Director Shaun Peterson’s feature Lover of Men: The Untold History of Abraham Lincoln is now playing in theaters and will be available via VOD on Oct. 8. The movie uses interviews with prominent Lincoln scholars, in addition to dramatizations and access to never-before-seen photographs and letters, to suggest that the revered politician had romantic relationships with men. The film focuses on four men — including close friend Joshua Speed — with whom Lincoln shared a bed at separate points in his life, according to this research.
“I’ve been researching this for a very long time, since around 2007,” Peterson tells The Hollywood Reporter. “[There was] fluidity that existed throughout human history, before the words and ideas ‘homosexual’ and ‘heterosexual’ were...

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will keep swinging in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” director Destin Daniel Cretton in early talks to helm the film.
In addition to the Simu Liu-led “Shang-Chi,” Cretton’s other credits 2013’s “Short Term 12,” 2017’s “The Glass Castle” and 2019’s “Just Mercy.” He was previously set to direct the now-scrapped “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” but departed the project in November 2023. Cretton has stayed in the Marvel family and co-created the upcoming “Wonder Man” miniseries, starring Yahya Abdul Matteen II. Cretton has also been developing a sequel to “Shang-Chi,” but a source close to the production says that “Spider-Man 4” is currently the priority for the studio.

For years, James Marsden has been considered one of Hollywood’s underrated talents. However, his luck has not always been the best. In fact, the actor has often appeared in films like The Notebook, missing out on love. Whereas in X-Men films, he ended up being overshadowed by other superheroes. With the 50-year-old always ending up on the sidelines, fans have felt bad for the star. But now, those days may be over.

Deadpool & Wolverine couldn't get everyone back, which meant having to secretly recast multiple characters, including a few major X-Men villains.
Marvel Studios' first foray into the world of the X-Men turned out to be a rather sweet swansong to the Foxverse and its films. It also gave other characters like Wesley Snipes' Blade one last chance in the limelight before they're recast in the MCU.
However, most of the cameos in the Deadpool threequel can be found huddled in Cassandra Nova's compound in The Void, acting as her personal army. While some actors from years past returned as her henchmen, like Aaron Stanford's Pyro, others didn't or simply couldn't.

The Emmys were once recognized as one of the highest forms of achievement that any actor or project can earn. However, the title has grown the notoriety of snubbing the deserved winners of a particular category. One such instance occurred recently: Blue Eye Samurai won the Best Animated Program over the flawless X-Men ’97 that had taken the world by storm.

Blue Eye Samurai is the dark sheep of Netflix, as the show had little to no hype but it was its gripping narrative and striking animation that resulted in the title being so popular. However, it was not good enough when its contender was X-Men ’97, which was a near-perfect show, where the 10 episodes featured the narrative of our favorite mutant team.

Deadpool & Wolverine further explored The Void, introducing a Cassandra Nova Variant deemed so dangerous to the Multiverse that she'd been allowed to do what she pleases there.
When Wade Wilson and Logan crossed paths with the villain, they also came face-to-face with some familiar - and not so familiar - Variants. Among them was Quill, a mutant you may or may not remember from 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand.
Able to sprout porcupine-like quills from his body and use them as high-speed projectiles which could kill his enemies at will, he was portrayed by Ken Leung. However, in Deadpool & Wolverine, he became a she.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been a staple of the Hollywood landscape for nearly two decades. It all began with Iron Man in 2008, which was a phenomenon in and of itself, but it grew into something so exponentially large that few could have predicted the levels of box office success that Marvel Studios would go on to achieve. It was unprecedented, but it was doable - but only by Marvel.
The Avengers changed the game for the franchise, with the billion-dollar performance setting a new standard for superhero movies that the MCU itself would go on to outdo multiple times. But even with those levels of success, an end of an era came about when Avengers: Endgame - which temporarily became the highest-grossing movie of all time - brought about an end to the Infinity Saga, concluding the franchise's 11-year story. After that, the Multiverse Saga began.

Superman has had tons of movies over the years, each with something of it's own to offer the fans. Whether you grew up watching the Christopher Reeve classics or the recent Dceu movies, there is a Superman movie for everyone. Heck, there is a new Superman in James Gunn's DC Universe now, too.
Of course, the original DC movie was Superman and the Mole Men, starring George Reeves as Clark Kent and his heroic alter ego. George Reeves is known for his role as the Man of Steel in the TV show, Adventures of Superman, which ran for six seasons between 1952 and 1958. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has dominated the contemporary blockbuster ecosystem so thoroughly and for so long now, to the point where it's getting ridiculous, that it may sometimes be easy to forget that there's a whole section of the Hollywood Venn diagram that excludes it while still including Marvel. Although there have been a whopping 34 MCU films (so far), there have also been 39 non-mcu films throughout history based on Marvel Comics publications -- and that's not even counting the ones adapted from comics published by Marvel offshoots, such as "Kick-Ass" and the "Kingsman" and "Men in Black" franchises.
Not for nothing, a lot of those non-mcu films have been pretty darn amazing. There's an argument to be made that, between the "X-Men" and "Spider-Man" series in the 2000s, Marvel movies were shaping and defining superhero cinema as we know it long before the MCU. The Mutants are coming to the MCU — a fact we’ve known since Disney acquired Fox. While you might argue that some mutants have already appeared in the MCU, the X-Men themselves have not, and their full debut is still on the horizon. We’ve been promised that when they do arrive, it will be a significant moment.
Though the details remain unclear, it’s certain that Kevin Feige and Marvel want to get this right. The introduction of the X-Men will be a major event that will shape the MCU’s future for years, so it has to be executed flawlessly.
While there are no specific details yet, there is a compelling theory about the plot of ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ that might be connected to the X-Men’s debut in the MCU.
We know that ‘Secret Wars’ is set to be a major multiversal event and will wrap up the storyline involving Doctor Doom.

Exclusive: “These allegations of egregious misconduct are false,” said former X-Men ’97 showrunner Beau DeMayo today about the dark cloud of “gossip” over his sudden pink slipping by Marvel/Disney from the Emmy-nominated animated series just before its debut earlier this year.
Flipping the script, the seasoned scribe called out Marvel over its alleged “toxic environment” and “near criminal working conditions” that “turns individuals against one another, stokes paranoia to ensure compliance.”
Months after DeMayo’s exit in March, Marvel/Disney exclaimed in August that he was fired because of the “egregious nature of the findings” in a misconduct probe. Last month, DeMayo said that he was let go in part because of some LGBTQ fan art he reposed, implying strongly such rigidity is emblematic of the company’s inside stance. Rumors at Disney have swirled around photos supposedly sent to X-Men ’97 colleagues and accusations of getting too touchy with people on X-Men ’97.

Have you ever wanted to be so wrapped up in your partner, it’s as if you could just melt into them? Well, filmmaker Thibault Emin is taking that sentiment to the extreme — with a horrifying twist.
Emin makes his directorial debut with “Else,” a body horror romance feature about a strange epidemic that causes the infected to melt into their surroundings. Emin is a French director and screenwriter, who is expanding his 2007 short film “Else” into a feature that has been more than 15 years in the making. He co-wrote the script with Alice Butaud and Emma Sandona.

Now that we’re into September – hopefully, you’ve read our preview from last week – many are hoping the box office can sustain its summer business. This week’s offering, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” surely will help. Read on for Gold Derby’s box office preview.
Back in 1988, director Tim Burton teamed with Michael Keaton for the comedy “Beetlejuice,” which was Burton’s second feature film as a director. The movie became a relatively big hit, made on a fairly small budget, putting Burton and Keaton into a place where they could tackle “Batman” the following year.
The original “Beetlejuice” starred Alec Baldwin in a year in which he became a bigger star, along with Geena Davis, who was also starting a burgeoning career. Catherine O’Hara had already been doing the Canadian sketch comedy show “Sctv” for many years and taking on smaller film roles before being cast in that film, but more importantly,...

Our favorite Harry Potter actor, Daniel Radcliffe, happens to be a major geek, but not in a way to compete with his Victor Frankenstein (2015) co-star James McAvoy. Awaiting his panel for the horror thriller, the duo appeared in an MTV After Hours from Josh Horowitz, to answer pop culture trivia, wherein McAvoy beat Radcliffe’s a*s at his own game.

Appearing in Josh Horowitz’s team, Daniel Radcliffe was asked to compete with James McAvoy and his four Horsemen of Apocalypse (what a reference to his 2016 Marvel flick X-Men: Apocalypse). During the segment, although Radcliffe was expected to know the most basic questions about Harry Potter, the actor surprisingly lost to McAvoy. It now seems quite obvious why Radcliffe was initially intimidated by the X-Men star while filming their movie.

I’ve always found it strange how Found Footage appears more frequently in film than in television. With the X-Men now under the Marvel umbrella following nearly two decades at 20th Century Fox, things seem to be going well with the success of Deadpool & Wolverine. With the third and possibly final Deadpool movie serving as a sort of bookend to that era of the characters many are speculating what the future holds for the uncanny heroes and who will portray them on screen.
