It can be hard to tell sometimes what is a Best Horror Movie You Never Saw. You look at the credentials on a particular film without looking at the title and surely it has to be a mega popular hit. You have Italian mega director Dario Argento, Oscar nominated Piper Laurie, James Russo, Brad Douriff, and special effects by another master of his craft in none other than Tom Savini. I set you up with all those names and accomplishments and maybe you wrack your brain on the possibility that you have seen or even heard of the movie. But I say have you seen the 1993 horror movie Trauma (watch it Here) and I’m guessing for most people, the answer will be no. That is a sure fire way for a movie to end up on this show and that’s why today you will learn why Trauma is...

Judy is in town, visiting her cousin, when she's invited to a party at Brad's house. Brad, eternally a frat bro, thinks he has an easy mark for a night of sexy fun. But tables are quickly turned and the party is over for Brad. Blake Simon's short film Faces played in the Small Gauge Trauma program, and is a cool slice of shapeshifting horror which explores the search for identity. As a piece of horror filmmaking Simon’s got skills. There are creepy things off in the distance that only we can see and mildly scary confrontations with the entity. Horror elements are kept at a minimum, either by choice but most likely a necessity because of the short film format and that little,...

Chicago – Pride Weekend is upon us, and what better way to celebrate then with “Trauma Clown” John Michael, showcasing his latest one-man performance of “Spank Bank Time Machine“ at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre from June 28th-30th, 2024. For tickets and info, click Spank Bank.
“Spank Bank Time Machine” is a serious subject that John Michael manages to put into elegant and humorous context, as it tells the journey of one of his best friends … nicknamed Fun Monster … and his difficult relationship with substance abuse. The show is an inquiry, within the ramifications of Fun Monster’s constant misuse of self medication, as to why it evolved to the point of no return. This audience participation show is a loving portrait of madness, with John Michael going back and forth along the timeline … thus the title … with several hilarious cautionary tales.

If it’s true that comedy equals tragedy plus time, Paul Scheer has a serious advantage. While audiences may recognize him as the earnestly delusional Andre from The League or as the satirical action star of Ntsf:sd:suv::, Scheer’s past isn’t as funny as his work — as evidenced by his new memoir, Joyful Recollections of Trauma. In the book, the actor, comedian, podcaster, and writer/director uncovers a layer of darkness he’s previously only hinted at, reflecting on his childhood, including abuse from his stepfather, and his longtime obsession with Hollywood.

As Paul Scheer writes in his new book, he learned at an early age to be careful who he told about what he wanted to be when he grew up. Whenever he proudly pronounced that it was his dream to appear on Saturday Night Live, he would be met with disbelief or (worse) condescension — he quickly realized it was better to keep his acting aspirations quiet. Of course, like so many of Hollywood’s comedy greats, he found himself at NYU, unable to resist the pull of individuality and creative expression that ran rampant throughout the Village. He eventually found improv, first performing as part of the group Chicago City Limits and later joining the Upright Citizens Brigade. Here, in this exclusive excerpt from Joyful Recollections of Trauma, he shares a particularly memorable moment from his time with the group — being (briefly) discovered by Lorne Michaels.

Brad Dourif has had an incredible acting career that stretches back more than fifty years – and back in the early days of that career, he even earned a “Best Actor in a Supporting Role” Oscar nomination for his performance in the 1975 classic One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Over a decade later, he started playing the role he is best known for, that of Charles Lee Ray, a.k.a. Chucky, a serial killer who uses voodoo to transfer his soul into the body of a doll. Dourif is now 74 years old, so when we hear that he has decided to retire from acting, it’s totally understandable… but while talking about his retirement, Dourif has also made sure to assure fans that his days of Chucky are not over. He will still continue to work on any Chucky projects that might come up.

The Great Indian Kapil Show Episode 2 Was As Lame As Episode 1 ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Another episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show has aired, and I am still waiting for the jokes to make me laugh. But the only thing that gets offered is cringe and some more cringe. This week, cricketers Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer made their appearance on the show amidst the Ipl fever.
There was a time when cross-dressing by comedians was fun and created laughter, but it might be a passe thing, or probably the next step to every cross-dressing joke is crossing the thin line between fun and discomfort.
This week, the line was clearly crossed when Sunil Grover tried to create laughter as an engineer undressed into a cheerleader, opening his jumpsuit and turning into a skin show of a short skirt and a crop tank.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is causing quite a buzz in the MCU, but fans hoping for a seamless continuation from the Netflix series may be in for some disappointment. The upcoming show is set to be a soft reboot, with not all key members of Daredevil’s team making a return.
Adding to the letdown, fans will witness several episodes where Daredevil won’t be in his iconic suit. The focus of the show is shifting towards a legal drama, exploring Daredevil’s life post-hanging up his vigilante identity. This parallels Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, trying to leave his past behind.
The studio’s decision to veer away from the current show is attributed to it being deemed “a bit boring.” Instead, they are taking a fresh approach, aligning more with the faithful comic version of the character. While some previously filmed content will be retained, many elements of the story will be reconstructed from scratch.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is one of the most hyped-up projects in the MCU currently. Although fans have been hoping that the show will, in some ways, continue where Netflix’s production left off. It’s been known for quite a while now that the show will instead be a soft reboot, with not all core members of Daredevil’s team returning to the screens.
Fans were also quite disappointed to learn that the show would feature quite a number of episodes where Daredevil does not suit up at all. The show was supposed to go in the direction of legal drama, focusing on Daredevil’s life after he drops his vigilante mantle, trying to put his past behind him, just like Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin.
The announcement came that the studio is scaping the current show due to being “a bit boring” and moving in a different direction altogether, embracing...

Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again has rounded out its revamped creative team with a new showrunner and directors. Dario Scardapane has been tapped as showrunner and directing team Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (Loki) are set to direct the Charlie Cox series, sources confirm to Deadline.
The series has been revamping its creative team after determining the show wasn’t working as is. Head scribes Chris Ord and Matt Corman and episodic directors were let go, but remain EPs on the two-season series. Daredevil, which first aired on Netflix, follows Cox as Matt Murdock, a blind attorney turned crimefighting superhero.
Less than half of the series’ 18 episodes were shot. Marvel plans to keep some footage though the series will pivot from being a procedural show to having a more serialized focus. Scardapone will write the new episodes, incorporating what was already shot, we’re told.

“Daredevil: Born Again” has found its new creative team.
Dario Scardapane, who wrote and executive produced on Netflix’s Marvel series “The Punisher,” will serve as the showrunner for the new “Daredevil” show, after previous head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman exited amid a major creative overhaul. Ord and Corman will still be credited as executive producers.
Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead — who directed on Marvel’s “Moon Knight” and are the lead directors on Season 2 of “Loki” — will step in to direct the rest of the first season of “Daredevil: Born Again.” As part of the show’s creative overhaul, Marvel released the previously hired directors for Season 1 after production shut down amid the SAG-AFTRA strike. Elements of the material that were already shot will be incorporated into the series, but the show overall is meant to head in a new direction.

Today marks one year since the murder of Young Dolph. In the past 12 months, the Memphis rapper has been championed as a stalwart of southern rap and a beacon of independent ethos and communal leadership. His team is celebrating his legacy with the surprise release of a new posthumous single called “Get Away.”
The song epitomizes what made Dolph great. His mesh of brevity and clarity always helped the bars pack an extra punch and here, his discontent is delivered with Dolph’s signature Memphis drawl and matter-of-factness.

The Cranberries lead singer Dolores O’Riordan tragically died in January 2018 at age 46 — accidental drowning due to alcohol intoxication. But the rock band released one final album more than a year later, “In the End,” which is now nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Album. Will the recording academy pay tribute to them with a win this year? Other rockers have recently won posthumous Grammys, perhaps surprisingly, The Cranberries had never earned a single nomination before this, so they’re long overdue.
The Irish rock band had their heyday in the mid-1990s, when their first three albums — “Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?,” “No Need to Argue” and “To the Faithful Departed” — all had multi-platinum sales and produced a few enduring hits including “Dreams,” “Linger” and “Zombie.” “Argue” was their most successful release, certified seven-times platinum, and “Zombie” topped Billboard’s Alternative Rock chart, but...

HBO is rounding out its ensemble cast for its Game Of Thrones prequel pilot. Marquis Rodriguez (When They See Us), John Simm (Strangers), Richard McCabe (Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams), John Heffernan (Dracula) and Dixie Egerickx (The Secret Garden) are set as series regulars in the drama pilot from writer Jane Goldman and author/Got co-executive producer George R.R. Martin.
Created by Goldman and Martin and written by Goldman based on a story by her and Martin, the untitled prequel takes place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones. It chronicles the world’s descent from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: From the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend — it’s not the story we think we know.

After the #MeToo movement exploded in 2017 and brought renewed attention to the treatment of women in Hollywood Greta Gerwig (“Lady Bird”) became only the fifth woman ever nominated for Best Director at the Oscars. But despite a strong slate of 2018 films helmed by women, it looked like this year would return to an all-male lineup. However, Debra Granik has emerged from this fall’s independent film and critics’ awards as a dark horse contender for her intimate father-daughter drama “Leave No Trace.” Now a few of our top users think she’ll make the cut.
There have been a number of noteworthy films this year from female directors, including”Can You Ever Forgive Me?” (Marielle Heller), “Private Life” (Tamara Jenkins), “The Rider” (Chloe Zhao), “Destroyer” (Karyn Kusama) and “You Were Never Really Here” (Lynne Ramsey), among others. But none of them were making a strong impression in our racetrack odds.

“Nigga like the new Jay-z” raps firebrand Meek Mill on “Tic Tac Toe.” “Poppin’ like Bad Boy in ’94, Big Poppa and Diddy,” he insists on “What’s Free.” Indeed, the shadow of the Biggie/Jay-z/Nas era of critical and commercial dominance – circa 1996 to 2003 – looms large on Mill’s fourth studio album, Championships. He raps over the Lonnie Linston Smith sample from Jay’s “Dead Presidents” (“Respect the Game”), tries the same Phil Collins sample as Nas’ “One Mic” (“Intro”) and even rewrites B.I.G.’s “What’s Beef...

Exclusive: ITV-owned Tall Story Pictures is developing an international TV series based on European banking dynasty novel House of Gold after optioning Natasha Solomons’ book.
The company, which is behind Mike Bartlett’s forthcoming drama The Man, is working with the author herself to adapt the series.
The book is set on the eve of World War I and is a family epic that draws back the curtain of the opulent life of banking dynasty the Goldbaums, a Rothschilds-style family whose world is about to shatter.
The Goldbaum’s influence reaches across Europe; they are the confidantes and bankers of governments and emperors. Little happens without their say-so and even less without their knowledge. But Greta Goldbaum has no say at all in who she’ll marry. Greta’s union with cousin Albert will strengthen the bond between the Austrian and the English branches of the dynasty. It is sensible and strategic,...
