NH Growing Pumpkins Fall Update

Pumpkins are a crop available in New Horizons. They were first released on the Version 1.5.0 update. Similarly to bushes, pumpkins start off as pumpkin starts and they develop over time. There are 4 different types of pumpkin that can be grown: orange, yellow, white, and green. Pumpkins can be used in certain DIY recipes, including spooky ones, and certain cooking recipes. All pumpkins sell for 350 Bells each, regardless of color.

Growing Pumpkins[]

Pumpkin starts can be purchased from Nook's Cranny for 280Bells each, or from Leif for 280Bells each. Pumpkin starts are available anytime from Leif, but Nook's Cranny only stocks them during October.

Pumpkin starts randomly pick a type of pumpkin for each start planted. If the player wants a certain color of pumpkin, planting the type of pumpkin, for example the white pumpkin, will produce the type of pumpkin after 4 stages of growth.

To obtain a certain number of pumpkins per plant. The player will need to water the pumpkin plant a certain amount of times during its growth. The maximum number of pumpkins per plant is 3 pumpkins.

  • If the player wants only one pumpkin per plant. The player cannot water the pumpkin plants during its growth. After 4 days if it was planted via start or pumpkin, or 2 days if the plant was picked. It will only produce 1 pumpkin.
  • If the player wants two pumpkins per plant. The player needs to water the plants at least one time during its growth. After 2-4 days, depending on if it was picked or grown from a start or pumpkin, it will produce two pumpkins.
  • If the player wants 3 pumpkins per plant. The player will need to water the plants 3-4 days during initial growth, or all days after being picked. After 2-4 days, depending on if it was picked, or grown from a start or pumpkin, it will produce three pumpkins.

Trivia[]
