I actually was pleasantly surprised how well the fine tooth comb worked, if you were patient! With a little combing, there was a wavy look as it started to pull the yarn strands apart but after several minutes it took on the look of brushed yarn! Not quite as wispy as with the wire brush but if a comb is all you have on hand, I think it works well. It’s also nice because if you slip and comb something on your piece that you didn’t want brushed, it won’t snag and fuzz up nearly as easily as the brush.
