The 7.88mm round was a type of handgun ammunition used by the Three World Empire. The 7.88mm round favoured a "quantity over quality" approach, and was ineffective against armor worn by members of the United States Colonial Marine Corps, as well as EVA suits worn by the Union of Progressive Peoples' Space Operating Forces. During the development of the Kramer .50 Magnum, Kramer Metallarbeiten GmBH eschewed using the 7.88mm round due to its flaws, and instead chose the 12.7mm round used by the United Americas.
