Bishop sleeve: during the Romantic Period the bishop sleeve was made with a row of vertical pleats at the shoulder that released into a soft, full sleeve gathered to a fitted cuff at the wrist. Popular until 1840.

A woman wears a pink bonnet with large white plumes and pink flowers inside the brim.
