This rug hooking kit is drawn on cotton monks cloth and is my own original design. It comes with all the wools cut in one quarter inch strips necessary to complete the kit and also the pattern, rug binding, a color key, and easy to follow instructions. I can't tell you how many people have taught themselves traditional rug hooking (not latch hook) using these kits. The only other items you will need to get started are a frame to keep your pattern taut and a rug hook. I started out with a quilting hoop and did several rugs on that before purchasing a floor frame. I have a 10" Morgan no slip hoop available in my Etsy shop which would work great for this kit. As for the hooks I have hardwood and steel primitive hooks which I normally sell for $13.50 but you can choose to purchase one for the reduced price of just $7.00 if you'd like one with your kit. The hooked pattern measures 7 X 7 1/2 inches and would make a great wall hanging, table centerpiece, candle or teapot mat when completed. Lots of people hang these hand hooked mats from old cupboards or make little pillows out of them. The sky is hooked with mixed blues and winter white and the hill with leaf litter plaid. The water is hooked with mixed blues ombre stripe. For the foreground you will receive all the colors in the photo and more. Many of them are herring bones and ombre stripes so they make for an interesting mix. The way you hook them into the kit is up to you and will be fun. To see a demonstration of this craft please see my daughter's website, loopbyloopstudio.com to find instructional videos and tips for beginners as well as more kits, patterns, etc. For finished rugs that I have for sale please visit my second etsy shop SharonPerryHooksRugs.
