Fantasy saber

I've always been intrigued by the Moonlight Greatsword from the ''Soulsborne'' series, I wanted to give it a go and do something in similar fashion.

These are another commission I did for a client, they allowed me a lot of creative freedom with these pieces and was quite fun blocking out the designs and overall great experience working with them. Took inspiration from the Star Wars animated shorts as this was the direction and style my client wanted to go in. Hybrid saber featuring Besca blade. I wanted to practice some boolean stuff and see how the bevels end up, so decided to make something out of past sketches of such sabers. Tried to get some nice leather in place as well. The blade has been obviously inspired by the Mandalorian series. Enjoy!

A plundered ornamental cutlass, adorned with a retrofitted pirate's skull to denote its new owner. All elements where subdivision modeled in 3ds max, including all ornamental detail, and baked into the normal map. Maya was used for uv unwrap and 3D-coat for layout. Textured in substance painter and rendered in Marmoset toolbag.

Lightsaber model inspired by 18th Century Dueling/Officer sabers and the Dark Saber as this lightsabers blade shape is designed to look more like a traditional sword. The model consists of two parts, the hilt and the blade itself each of which has its own material with the blade’s material being used to create the lightsaber blade with an emissive effect. Meetra Waverunner's lightsabers were a pair of identical lightsabers created by Meetra Waverunner in 62 ATC. The hilts of the weapons were made out of wroshyr-wood, decorated with haysian smelt and finished with a transparent protective coating to prevent scratches and cracking if the weapons were dropped or struck by blunt objects.
