I realize that this is NOT a news flash, but I've been playing with scraps again. Ha! It's messy work, but someone has to do it! I made these banner blocks for the Minneapolis Modern Quilt Guild. The only requirements were to use brights and white fabrics and they needed to be 6.5" square. I had a lot of fun making them. This one is my favorite! I am including Improvisational Quilt, no. 4 in this year's challenge. It was sewn during Hurricane Harvey in the late summer 2017 but it was the quilt that started this movement to sew and document these quilts. I like the quilt backings to be interestingly different from the fronts. In this quilt's case, it is backed with a very soft 1970s vintage sheet. I sew these as intuitively as I can.
