Something I wish to share with you all is a small and simple rigid heddle that I recently made. It is extremely portable and easy to use, especially when you wish to weave a band of just one or two metres. This sturdy little heddle has been carved from a slice of boxwood and given a couple of coats of hemp seed oil. Sandy Lopez on Instagram: "Today I added an extension to a Viking knit weave I had started last week and it is a great opportunity to answer a question that many have : " how do I add new wire when it runs out ". To do so, I simply connect both strands by twisting the end of the finished wire to the new wire 3 to 4 times tightly ( not to tight or you could break the wire) , trim the excess, then resume the weaving making sure to tuck the stitch inside.   On the video you can see that the weave I started last week has already naturally started oxidized since I made it and it is much darker compared to the new wire.   I marked the stitch with black sharpie before pulling the chain through the plate so we can keep accurate track of it and see where does it hides after pulling it.
