A rare and exceptional 19th century Italian Louis XV hand carved gilt wood center table with turtle shape original white colored marble top. The serpentine shaped table has elegant carvings of canthus scrolls, leafs, shells and faces masks. Obviously done by a talented Master Carver, the table is finely chiseled and exhibits crisp precise details with great depth. Its light airy exuberance is typical of the delicate Rococo style championed by Cuvilliés, who some credit with introducing the Rococo style to Central Europe. All in original condition.
