Notes

  • Superman prints a readout from the supercomputer in his Fortress of Solitude informing him that no other Justice Leaguers or super-powered heroes have been in the vicinity of Metropolis for the past 48 hours. An editorial note by Julie Schwartz reminds readers that Metropolis's other resident superhero, Black Lightning, doesn't count because he has no innate powers of his own.
  • Lois Lane gets an eerie chill at the thought that Superman and Vartox should ever come into conflict. Unbeknownst to her, this is because of a simulation by Vartox's super-advanced, almost infallible computers which predicted that such an event would end in Lois's death.[1]
