Doris Willis was an explorer in the 1930s.

In the 1930s, Doris Willis was part of the Murray-Cockerill expedition, which found the legendary hoard of Genghis Khan. After that journey, she married Ian Murray, and had no further recorded adventures.

  • Firearms Doris Willis with a rifle could shoot a small bug off a distant rock, or a swordsman off a charging pony.


  • This version of Doris Willis Murray, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
  • Doris Willis Murray appeared in the "Golden Dragon" serial which ran from New Comics #6 to Adventure Comics #36, then once in the spin-off "Skip Schuyler" series in Adventure Comics #37.
  • She was introduced as "Doris Willis" in New Comics #8 and had black hair.
  • She was captioned as "Doris Whipple" in New Adventure Comics #18 and still had black hair.
  • By Adventure Comics #36 her name had changed back to "Willis" and she became blonde.
  • In Adventure Comics #37 she married Ian Murray.
