Elkhorn is a small midwestern town, possibly located in Nebraska.
History
During the mid to late 1800s, Elkhorn became a boom town and was the base of operations for the Sioux sheriff, Ohiyesa. Local toughs didn't care for the idea of having an "Indian Lawman" in charge of things and saddled him with the derogatory nickname "Pow-Wow Smith". Unfortunately for Ohiyesa, the name stuck, and after some time, even he began addressing himself as Pow-Wow Smith.
