Notes
- Blackhawk's villain Tigra is another submarine pirate. Just two issues ago, the Squadron was equipped with five jet-powered submersible warplanes, armed with oxy-acetylene undersea blowtorches. And in Modern Comics #57, they had at least one jet-engined submersible scouting craft. Neither of these vehicles has been shown or mentioned after their first appearances.
- Blackhawk gets skyjacked and forced to bail out of his plane, which the skyjacker also abandons. This is at least the 27th Grumman fighter-bomber to be lost.[1]
- Blackhawk is injected with a drug which numbs his mind and body. Being a Blackhawk is dangerous.
- Tigra's submarine is sunk with all hands.
- Also appearing in this issue of Modern Comics was:
- Skipper
- Blackhawk: "The Fireballs" (text story)
