Stormwatch: Post Human Division #24 is an issue of the series Stormwatch: Post Human Division (Volume 1) with a cover date of January, 2010.

Synopsis for the 1st Story

Finland, nine weeks later.

Inside the Masking Wall, The High (now powerless) is being pursued by the Kheran android Rodrigo, the Titanthropes Deimos and Phobos, the Shaper Sabre, and the Coda warrior Kine. They cornered him but he is able to breach the Masking Wall and teleport to Skywatch III before he is wounded by Rodrigo. Kine reports their failure to stop Cumberland to her leader, Sebastian. He is disappointed with The High's escape before announcing, "Prepare the attack."

On the station, Jackson King observes Fuji repairing Skywatch until he is approached by Link, who then accuses King for knowing that Fuji would be infected with the Engineer's nanites when he was gravely wounded in UnLondon. King had Link keep that information under wraps in case Fuji did not survive, just as he neglected to tell Winter that he could channel the sun similar to Apollo. Thus, Link strongly believes that Jackson is planning a way to take down the Authority. Jackson concurs with Link's accusation, but before he could reveal anything John Cumberland teleports in their presence and he warns them the Kherans are coming.

Cumberland is rushed to their infirmary where he is kept stabilized. King is shocked to learn from Christine that Cumberland is now powerless and his physiology is similar to a human, as Christine discovered an aggressive biogenic agent that has altered Cumberland's genetic character. Furthermore, Christine is alarmed to find out that The High is suffering from inevitable cellular degeneration in which he will die soon. Jackson and Christine approach Cumberland to know his warning in which he proceeds to explain.

Cumberland received a call for help from inside Finland and he made himself human to pass beyond the Masking Wall. Once inside, he discovered Finland under the control of Kherans in which the people were either slaves or collaborators of what they called the New Kheran Empire. According to the Kherans' propaganda, the generator powering the Masking Wall somehow snagged on a quantum tether, tearing open a rift right into the Bleed; emerging from the rift is the legendary Kheran warship, the Red Blade, captained by the Knights of Khera. Ten millennia ago, the Kherans were fighting off a terrible invasion from the Bleed by invaders bent on total annihilation. What Kheran forces remained rallied behind the warlord Sebastian in which they routed their enemies and drove them back through the rift. In order for the rift to be sealed permanently, Sebastian and the crew of his ship, the Red Blade, volunteered to hold back the invaders within the Bleed. Sebastian and his followers willingly trapped themselves in the Bleed and became the stuff of legend among their people. After their escape from the Bleed, the Knights of Khera desired to conquer Earth despite its devastated condition because they have a plan to repair the planet. But only those within the Masking Wall will survive the process.

Stormwatch soon detects missiles launched from a hidden base on the moon and they land on the North and South Poles. King sends Team Alpha (Winter, Hellstrike, and Fuji) to the North Pole and Team Omega (Deathblow, Fahrenheit, and Flint) to the South Pole. They find towering spire-like objects burrowed to the ground, in which Flint examines them and recognizes them to be almost similar to the terraforming drones deployed by the "God"-creature that was slain by the Authority. Fuji analyzed the drones to have been re-tasked in which he detects highly exotic magnetic variances. Link figures out that they intend to switch off Earth's magnetic field which will expose the planet to the full force of the sun's radiation and effectively killing every living being on the planet's surface while everyone inside the Masking Wall are safely protected. King orders Teams Alpha and Omega to destroy the drones, but they are suddenly attacked by the Knights of Khera.

The Kherans prove too powerful for Stormwatch and are being taken down one by one. Skywatch is unable to contact or teleport their teams out due to the drones' electromagnetic field scrambling their signal. Cumberland appears and warns King that the Kherans are purposely taking advantage of Stormwatch, in which Sebastian is splitting their forces in a divide and conquer tactic. Soon, Sebastian contacts King and admits to being responsible for sending spies and saboteurs to destroy Skywatch after deeming Stormwatch unworthy of "honorable treatment." However, he realized that he was wrong in his assessment; he recognized King and his people adhere to some form of martial ethic, and so he offered to challenge and personally kill King. King accepts Sebastian's challenge.

King expects Sebastian to teleport himself and his forces to Skywatch, but Cumberland corrects him that he is not going to teleport to the station. Instead, Sebastian launches the Red Blade from Finland and pilots it to Skywatch. The station does not have the proper weapons to seriously damage the warship, in which King then orders all power (including life-support) to reinforce the Storm Door and everyone teleported off the station to the Authority's Carrier. Link raises the Storm Door and sets the shields to maximum. As the Red Blade draws near, Link, Jackson, Christine and Cumberland set Skywatch on ramming speed and teleport away before the station collides with the warship.

The High takes King and the others to his base in the Rocky Mountains. King looks up at where Skywatch had collided with the Red Blade and ask Christine if he had made the right choice. Link answers that everyone is not dead except for those on the Red Blade.

Out in space, Skywatch survived the collision while the Red Blade is heavily damaged. Amongst the floating debris, a wounded Sebastian survives.
