Synopsis for "Superman: Warworld Apocalypse"

Mongul's forces breach the rebel camp's defenses spearheaded by Apollo, Black Razor and OMAC. Midnighter, Manchester Black and the Enchantress lead the rebels in a counter charge, and a full pitched battle breaks out between the two sides. Apollo is being controlled by neural implants which his invulnerability make impossible to remove, so Manchester Black creates an illusion of the Justice League to trick him into ripping them out himself. OMAC also defects back to the Authority, telling them that they only joined Mongul because he promised to bring Lia back. He asks the Authority to help him free Lia from inside Black Razor.

In the Necropolis, Mongul demands Superman hand over the Fire. Otho-Ra tells him not to and attacks Mongul, who easily holds her at arm's length and kills Osul-Ra. Superman charges Mongul in a rage and duels with him and Kryl-Ux while Otho-Ra cradles her brother's body. He drives them both back and uses the Fire to bring Osul-Ra back to life. When Mongul is shocked that he would waste such power to save a single person, Superman says that if he can't understand, he can never win.

At Engine City One, Darling overpowers Leonath and Natasha is unable to fight off Teacher's forces alone, but Orphan obliterates the soldiers with a wave of energy. Teacher tries to escape, terrified of Orphan, but the mighty infant destroys him as revenge for Teacher's experiments on him and Darling. With Teacher dead, Darling reverts to Orphan's control and takes his canister from Natasha. They breach the Star Forge chamber, but they cannot enter the chamber itself to place the Genesis device, as it will kill anyone who enters no matter how strong.

Another wave of Warzoons chase after them and gun down Leonath, leaving him mortally wounded. With his last moments of life, Leonath carries the Genesis device into the Forge. Leonath disintegrates, and the Forge changes from red to white as it absorbs the Genesis. Back in the Necropolis, Mongul tries to disintegrate Superman with energy from his jewel, but with his powers restored by the Genesis Superman is unharmed and he blasts Mongul with his heat vision. Suddenly Kryl-Ux, having gained super-strength from the Genesis, rips the wounded Mongul's heart out.

Back at the rebel camp, the Phaelosians suddenly gain superpowers and the Authority realise that Natalie succeeded. Black Razor runs to Engine City One to stop them, and OMAC teleports after her. OMAC grabs Black Razor and drags her into the Star Forge, where the Genesis purges Mother's darkness from Lia. The darkness reforms into the Black Racer, who speeds away as Lia cradles OMAC in her arms.

In the Necropolis, Kryl-Ux tells Superman and the children that he needed the Fire of Olgrun to kill Mongul in revenge for what he did to Kryl-Ux's family, and manipulated both Mongul and Superman to obtain the Fire, sacrificing hundreds of his own people for his vengeance. He takes Mongul's Orphan Box and says there are others who need to pay for the destruction of New Phaelosia, and now that he has powers, he believes he can destroy them without the Fire. He teleports away, telling Superman that he saw him as a friend and hopes they can be again.

Weeks later, Lord Premiere Thaaros receives a call on the secret communication channel Mongul used to contact him. To his shock, it is not Mongul but Kryl-Ux, accompanied by Chaytil. Kryl-Ux tells Thaaros that Mongul is dead, and he is now the leader of the Warzoon tribes who do not follow Superman. Kryl-Ux reveals that when the previous Mongul attacked New Phaelosia the Phaelosians appealed to Thaaros, then a young senator, for sanctuary, but he handed them over to Mongul instead. Thaaros tries to deny it but Kryl-Ux tells him that he will wreak vengeance on Thaaros and the United Planets.

Superman returns to Earth and reunited with Lois.
