The people of Toomey VI are a hirsute race of conquerors.
History
One of their most well known military expeditions took them to the planet Xanshi. Military leader Tarrik sought to subjugate the avian denizens of Xanshi, but was repelled by that world's Green Lantern. For his failure, the leader of his people, the Foremost, offered him two options: Loss of his name, or loss of his life.
As honor was considered of greater value to the people of Toomey VI than life, Tarrik chose a sentence of death. He was disintegrated in a dissolution chamber. Shortly thereafter, an archivist from Toomey VI named Arkkis Chummuck conducted a study of the Green Lantern Corps and learned of their greatest weakness - the Green Lanterns were powerless against anything colored yellow.
Arkkis falsified records to gain access to a starship and flew to Xanshi to meet the Green Lantern. Donning golden armor, he fought with the Green Lantern and inadvertently meted out a fatal blow. Though dying, the Green Lantern recognized Arkkis Chummuck's honor and courageousness and gave him his power ring. Arkkis became the Xanshi guardian's successor in the Green Lantern Corps.
