Gilbert Anderson is the deuteragonist of the Under Wraps franchise. He is the cowardly, yet good-natured best friend of Marshall who befriends a mummy to overcome his fears.

Gilbert is a nervous wreck of a young boy who tends to jump at even the slightest thing that appears mildly creepy or upsetting. He covers this with jokes and thinking of nice fun things. Over time, he learns to be much braver and even heroic in his own right. Gilbert is willing to stick around for his friends and even grows to accept Harold as a close friend.
Remake and sequel[]
Gilbert retains his timidness, but is also shown to be much more reluctant to the point of even attempting to back out of things. Just like in the original, he does eventually get to a point where he becomes much more heroic an daring by the film's end. In the sequel, Gilbert becomes more adventurous in an effort to maintain his fearlessness, though he later admits that he is still scared when it comes to doing new things.
