Bagpipes come from many countries, but they are most commonly associated with Scotland. Use of the Great Highland Bagpipe dates back to the 14th century, but similar instruments appeared in Spain even earlier. I must say there was something neat about getting off the train in Edinburgh and hearing the sound of bagpipes pretty much everywhere I went--definitely added to the experience. High Street.
