The first time I heard the concept of the wounded healer it changed my life. My whole body relaxed in the knowing that perhaps all the pain I was in all the challenges I was facing could be used to help others in some distant day down the road. It made my suffering bigger than me. It gave me hope and a purpose. I was so far underwater that saving myself seemed less and less compelling -- but helping others helping others not go through what I was going through -- that excited me. That lit me…
