John D. Sobieski (17, January 1822 - 4, June 1870), was commodore in the United States Navy who, in 1843, he claimed Pennsylvania for the United States.

He was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with hes father, Drake Sobieski, he also the last member of Sobieski family.
