Summary

Description
English: Church of the Gesu, Rome, Lazio, Italy. The decorations of the vault over the nave date back to the 17th Century. The fresco is the work of Giovanni Battista Gaulli, known as Baciccia. The stucco reliefs were executed by Ercole Antonio Raggi and Leonardo Reti, following the drawings of Baciccia who wanted to effect a real continuity between painting and sculpture.
Français : Église du Gesù, Rome, Latium, Italie. Les décorations de la voûte de la nef datent du XVIIè siècle. La fresque est l’œuvre de Giovanni Battista Gaulli, dit le Baciccia. Les reliefs en stuc ont été réalisés par Ercole Antonio Raggi et Leonardo Reti, d’après les dessins du Baciccia qui voulait réaliser l’union étroite entre peinture et sculpture.
