Hi there!
I'm "hogsy", aka Mark Sowden - based in the UK, England. Primarily working to preserve video game history through TalonBrave.info and other initiatives.
These initiatives include open-source projects for the community such as OpenHoW, a reimplementation of the classic Hogs of War game that was originally released for PC and PSX, and Invasion, a recreation of Valve's cancelled Team Fortress 2 iteration from 2003.
Beyond that, I also do reverse-engineering for various games on the side and document my work. A few examples of which I've provided below.
- The unseen animations of Into the Shadows
- Triton’s HDV model format
- Exploring the deep, with Bullfrog’s Creation
- Sentient Textures
- Dark Vengeance Extraction Utility
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or just want to chat! I'm available on Twitter, Discord (hogsy#9210) or via email.

Featured work
-
TalonBraveInfo/OpenHoW
Open-source reimplementation of Gremlin's Hogs of War (PC/PSX).
C 166 -
hogsy/chronon
This is an open-source reimplementation of Anachronox, built on top of the Quake 2 engine (which funnily enough is the same engine Anachronox was developed upon).
C++ 48 -
hogsy/its_tk
Application developed while reverse engineering Into the Shadows. This is incredibly sloppy and is a little outdated, but I'm uploading it here for historical purposes.
C 2 -
hogsy/creation_tk
Utility for reading/extracting/converting files from Bullfrog's cancelled Creation game.
