I know it's cheesy, but this has made our transition to writing sentences almost flawless. They KNOW what a sentence needs. I made this anchor chart to go with it and taught them the song as we learned about each of our 5 big goals for writing. You may have different goals, but these are the ones I like. Especially going back to check! After we write a word we chant "go back and check!" Each part of the song has a very easy movement, and my kids know that fist explosion means punctuation 😂 It's so funny to be teaching, and say, "Hm, am I done?" And hear them yell,"No! You need punctuation!" and do the fist drop/explosion move 😂 I use How To Write A Sentence Anchor Chart, Writing A Sentence Anchor Chart, Writing Anchor Charts For Kindergarten, How To Write A Sentence, Sentence Anchor Chart, Parts Of A Sentence, Different Goals, Writing Sentences, Classroom Anchor Charts

Our old classroom was in the dining room and after a couple of weeks I decided to take my craft room that I had only just begun working on and give it up! Crazy right? I was a bit sad, but I knew it had to be done! I really wanted to have a dining room and a separate classroom space. Honestly, who has…
