High Society Leak is a Data Leak finale mission featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of The Contract update.

Description[]

The player drives the stolen Super Diamond they had taken from the lawyer previously to the party at the Richman Mansion. When they arrive at the gate, the leader must enter the lawyer's access code at the gate. The player is warned to not openly carry their weapons. If seen or heard holding or firing a weapon, the mission will be that much more difficult with aggressive security guards.

Once at the mansion, the player finds the DJ and Imani realises that the music is only being streamed to the DJ set, meaning somebody else has the copy of Dr. Dre's music. Dr. Dre suggests that the player trashes the party to flush out whoever has the music. The Super Diamond can be destroyed by a remote bomb that the Protagonist had pre-installed to progress the intimidation as the player kills the guards and destroys the vehicles parked around the party, filling an intimidation meter until Ben Brooks appears and jumps into his SuperVolito helicopter and flies away to the northwest.

The player can get into a newly spawned supercar or one of the parked vehicles they did not destroy, exit the estate by shooting out a gate control panel, and chases after the helicopter, shooting it as it makes its way northwest while being pursued themselves by the billionaire's private military. Eventually, if the player fills the damage meter, the helicopter crashes onto the beach of Lago Zancudo in a cutscene. The player makes their way to the destroyed helicopter and finds a mortally wounded Brooks crawling away from the wreckage, while taunting the player under the assumption they're attempting to rob him, since his wealth is stored in the form of non-fungible tokens. The player(s) can listen to his dying rants or just kill him and then take the iFruit phone back to the Agency. A Tula or Sea Sparrow with two NPCs may appear just northwest of the crash site which can be stolen and used for the getaway.

Alternatively, if the player was not able to take down the helicopter, they follow it to the HODL in the Pacific Ocean northwest of Fort Zancudo. Several Seasharks will spawn on the shore to allow the player to reach the yacht, where they kill Ben Brooks and his guards and take the phone that way.

Once the phone is secured, the player is then chased back to their Agency by never-ending waves of Brook's private militia in Buzzards, Merryweather Mesas and Seasharks (if the player is on the water), until they get close enough to their Agency for their employers' death to be relayed to them as KIA (killed in action) and they call off the chase in the realization they will not be paid for anything they do to the player.

Transcript[]

After completing Investigation: Guest List, The Protagonist gets a call from Franklin and Imani.

Franklin:

Hey, what's up, y'all.

Imani:

Hey.

Franklin:

'Ey, check this out, so me and that lawyer spent some good ol'-fashioned quality time together.

Imani:

Please, it only took him like five minutes to give up the code.

Franklin:

Hey, I said quality, not quantity. Look, man, we gotta stop this auction from happening, and now we got a clean way in, shit. Just head back and login when you ready.

The Protagonist logs into their Agency Office computer.

Imani:

Okay, so who wants to go crash some crypto-douche's cocktails?

The Protagonist leaves the Agency. When replaying this setup, the dialogue starts from here. The Protagonist gets a call from Franklin.

Franklin:

So who's ready to go high society? I don't care how rich he is. This ain't his fuckin' music to be sellin'. Look, Imma head over to Dre's crib, 'cause he gon' want a live update on this one.

(First Time)

Franklin: Hey, Imani, you been tryin'a teach Lamar ass what a NFT is?

Imani: Umm... Kinda? Not gonna lie, it was pretty funny.

Franklin: Yeah, well he's out there talkin' about non-fuckable tokens, so... (laughing) Yeah, whatever, look. You got the CCTV feed for the mansion?

Imani: Yes.

The Protagonist drives the Lawyer's car to the gate of Richman Mansion, then uses the security codes to enter.

Ben Brooks:

(Over the speakers) Hey ladies, hey gents, hey ladies again. Hehehehe. Thank you for coming to my little soirée. Let me apologize for the unusual arrangement this evening. I have a little business matter to attend to inside, but don't worry.

Dre's song "The Scenic Route" plays on the speakers set up throughout the courtyard.

Franklin:

All good? They let you in?

Imani:

All quiet on the security channel.

Franklin:

A'ight, look, just be cool, blend in. Like, drink some cocktails or some shit.

Imani:

Just keep your phone on. I'll use it to track where the music is.

The Protagonist approaches the DJ booth.

Imani:

Huh... You're by the DJ, right?

Franklin:

'Ey, I think they over there, what's up?

Imani:

This DJ isn't even doing anything. The equipment is streaming music from somewhere else.

Franklin:

So he fuckin' faking it, huh?

Imani:

Looks like it. I'm gonna try to track down the real source now...

After a moment...

Imani:

Alright, I did a little snooping around this guy's home network. He's sitting tight inside... with the music.

Franklin:

Okay, shit, what you think, Dre?

Dr. Dre:

You know what I think? I think we should tell this motherfucker that my demos are not for sale, fuck everybody. I wanna send a message.

Franklin:

A'ight. You heard the man. 'Ey, start trashing all that shit. That oughta bring they ass out in the open.

Imani:

Well, this should be good.

Franklin:

'Ey, I don't care whatever the fuck you gotta do, break equipment, pop a few guards. Dre wants a message sent, and we goin' send it.

The Protagonist begins trashing the party to raise Ben Brooks' intimidation. They also get a new contact on their phone: "Detonate Bomb."

Franklin:

'Ey, don't forget that car bomb you had installed. Shit, almost like you knew this shit was gonna go down. 'Ey, call it in!

Intimidation: 25%

Imani:

So... heads up. Looks like our buddy just mobilized his private military.

Franklin:

'Ey, y'all hear that? Y'all better hunker down!

A helicopter appears to shoot the Protagonist. They take it down.

Intimidation: 90%

Imani:

I'm hearing some radio chatter about prepping a helicopter. Get ready to go after him.

Intimidation: 95%

Ben:

I get it. You want the music? Come and fuckin' get it, assholes!

At 100% Intimidation, A pair of bodyguards escort Ben Brooks to a helicopter, which takes off with him onboard.

Imani:

He's airborne!

Franklin:

'Ey, job well done, now get after his ass!

Imani:

I've got access to his comms in the chopper. He's freaking the fuck out up there.

Imani:

Good news is that he definitely has the copy of the phone with him. Just gotta force a landing.

Franklin:

Okay, this is it! Just bring down that chopper and we home and dry!

(The Protagonist doesn't shoot down the helicopter before leaving the mansion property)

Imani: Not to be a buzzkill but FYI, some more private military just arrived.

More enemies will spawn to attack the Protagonist as long as the helicopter's health is above zero.

The helicopter continues to fly over the ocean.

Imani: Shit... he got out over the ocean. There's still a chance. He must be going to his yacht.

Imani: Looks like he just got on a boat called HODL... HODL? That's H-O-D-L...

Franklin: Damn, this dude is fuckin' annoying... 'Ey, get onboard and grab that damn phone.

The Protagonist gets on the boat and takes out numerous guards.

Ben: Shoot them like they're coming to kill you too!

They eventually take out the Billionaire and retrieve the phone.

Imani: I'm getting a mayday from the chopper! Stay on it, you'll need to see where it goes down!

The helicopter crashes at the mouth of the Zancudo River. The Protagonist goes to the crash site, kills the Billionaire, then retrieves the phone.

Franklin: A'ight, look, if you got the phone, get the fuck out of there!

The Protagonist leaves the area. After a moment...

Imani:

Hmm, looks like the private military didn't get the memo about their dead employer yet.

Franklin:

'Ey, they don't even know they ain't getting paid for this shit. Just try to lose 'em.

Private Militiamen try to attack the Protagonist, but the Protagonist either outruns or defeats them. They enter Los Santos.

Imani:

Okay, update just came through to the military. The billionaire has been confirmed as KIA.

Franklin:

Shit, watch how fast they bounce once they find out all the money's out of the picture.

Franklin: 'Ey, so Dre want a word. Hold on, here he is.

Dr. Dre: Hey, good shit. One down. Keep it up. (to Franklin) A'ight, here you go, Franklin.

Franklin: A'ight, let's get back to the office. We goin' keep this shit on file till it's all wrapped up, then we goin' hand it all over. 'Ey, Imani. So what's next?

Imani: Up to Other Boss. And, hey... Dre's paycheck is clearing now. See you back here.

Franklin: 'Ey, Dre wants to say something. (to Dr. Dre) 'Ey, here you go, dog.

Dr. Dre: A'ight, listen, Franklin here tells me we've got two copies down. Good work. But we still have one more to go. (to Franklin) Alright, Franklin, here's your phone.

Franklin: 'Ey, good lookin', dog. 'Ey, look, bring this back to the base, and let's get the rest of this shit done, a'ight?

Imani: Cool... see you soon. Money for this job is clearing now, should be in your account when you get back.

Franklin: Hey, Dre wanna holler for a second. Here.

Dr. Dre: That was the last copy, right? Bravo! I guess you're as good as they say you are. (to Franklin) Here you go.

Franklin: Okay, look, now we just gotta track down the original phone that was stolen. 'Ey, Imani, you on it?

Imani: Yep, just as soon as Other Boss gets the last copy back here, I'll get to work. Payment for this one's coming through soon.

The Protagonist returns to their Agency. MISSION PASSED

When arriving at the mansion, the player may not be able to open the gate and attempting to do so alerts the guards right away.
- However, if the gate is gently pushed by a car, the slight touch will open the gate without alerting the guards.
When approaching the HODL by one of the supplied Seasharks or any other boat, the helicopter pilot may get aboard then jump into the water and drown^[1]

Trivia[]

The events of this mission are referenced in The Chop Shop update as part of The Cargo Ship Robbery, where upon selecting a vehicle to steal, Jamal Amir may mention that said vehicle was at the mansion while the music was being leaked.
