Kingdom Come Deliverance: All that Glisters Kingdom Come Deliverance Guide & Walkthrough

Last update: 26 April 2024

All that Glisters is among the longest main quests in Kingdom Come Deliverance. Henry has to conduct an investigation, searching for a money forger somewhere in Pribyslawitz. You will have to meet different people. There will be many decisions to make. We recommend you read the following carefully, in order not to miss any vital details.

Where are forgers

If during the previous main quest, Questions and Answers youve managed to interrogate the bandit successfully, you can go straight to the forgers hideout - Kingdom Come Deliverance: All that Glisters - Main quests - Kingdom Come Deliverance Game Guide

If during the previous main quest, Questions and Answers you've managed to interrogate the bandit successfully, you can go straight to the forgers' hideout. If that wasn't the case, and you only have the letter, you have to go to Sasau first and talk to the innkeeper - exhaust all dialogue options.

The drop-off point is located northeast from Rovna. After you reach that place, you will find the attacked carriage (the chest with a very difficult lock contains a few precious items) and a few bodies. You have to follow the blood trail to reach the charcoal burners' camp.

Talk to one of the burners - Kingdom Come Deliverance: All that Glisters - Main quests - Kingdom Come Deliverance Game Guide

Talk to one of the burners. Use persuasion or other skills to learn what has happened at the crossroads. You will learn that Borya is the man to talk to (you can also just find that man without speaking to burners). Borya is staying in the northern part of the camp and you can recognize him by his red hat. Use persuasion (Borya has 8 points), intimidation (12 points) or bribe (30 groshen or less if you can bargain). Ask every question you can. The burners will give you the Borya's key.

You have to meet the wounded prisoner. He's a mercenary, who's being kept in a hut shown on the screen above. Use the key to open it (you can try pickpocketing if Borya didn't budge or use lockpicks - very easy lock). Ask all possible questions again while talking to the prisoner.

Chasing Ulrich

A cut-scene will commence, and you will see Ulrich appearing in the camp - Kingdom Come Deliverance: All that Glisters - Main quests - Kingdom Come Deliverance Game Guide

A cut-scene will commence, and you will see Ulrich appearing in the camp. After the scene ends, Ulrich will start running away on horseback. If you want to chase him, call your own horse quickly. Mind the trees and bushes when riding through the forest. You can approach Ulrich slowly by riding on hard ground or look for ways to short cut the way. You have to tackle him with your own horse to force him to stop.

Fight Ulrich. He's using a heavy armor, so you will need a blunt weapon. Try to attack beyond his shield. You can also switch to bow and try to get a headshot (ideally from point-blank).

If you havent managed to catch up with Ulrich, the mission will not fail - Kingdom Come Deliverance: All that Glisters - Main quests - Kingdom Come Deliverance Game Guide

If you haven't managed to catch up with Ulrich, the mission will not fail. In such a situation, go to the inn located south of the monastery in Sasau. The troublemaker visits the tavern and you can wait for it. Accelerate the passage of time and look around inside the inn. The troublemaker should sit at one of the tables (screen). Talk with him and accept his invitation to meet him at sunset at the pond west of the inn. After arriving in this place you will proceed to an honorary duel with Ulrich.

Regardless of the circumstances of the battle with Ulrich, you must defeat him and bring him to surrender. Send to him and decide what you want to do. You can choose:

  1. Let Ulrich live. Exhaust all dialogues options and take from him the Ulrich's documents. You will be able to meet him later on.
  2. Kill Ulrich. Search the corpse. Apart from some very valuable items, you will also find Ulrich's documents. Attention - choosing this variant will prevent you from completing the Merciful achievement.

In any case, deliver the documents to Tobias Feyar. Find him in the lower castle in Rattay and exhaust all dialogue options.

One more thing - During your conversation with Ulrich, you can learn that he has murdered Menhart the merchant - Kingdom Come Deliverance: All that Glisters - Main quests - Kingdom Come Deliverance Game Guide

One more thing - During your conversation with Ulrich, you can learn that he has murdered Menhart the merchant. If you want, you can ask him about the location of his grave and complete a short side quest called Menhart's Grave. The location of the grave is marked down on the screen above. It's a ran-down cabin northwest from Rovna. Next to the cabin is the grave, which you can open with a shovel. In Menhart's grave, you can find Decorated sabre, a Necklace (worth 1000 groshen), a Silver ring and 96 groschen in cash.

Begining the investigation in Sasau

After you've spoken to Tobias Feyfar, your journal will be updated with no more than three new objectives:

  1. Find out who in Sasau uses copper - if you realize this objective, you won't have to finish the one with quicksilver.
  2. Find out where the counterfeiters get the quicksilver - if you realize this objective, you won't have to finish the one with copper.
  3. Speak with Ulrich - this is an optional objective that only appears in the journal if you didn't kill Ulrich. Meet him in Sasau, in a tavern (he's inside at one of the tables).

Variant 1 - Copper investigation

Begin by meeting three people in Sasau: the armsman Otto and the blacksmith Mikesh from the town of Sasau, and the blacksmith Zach, who lives near the Sasau monastery - Kingdom Come Deliverance: All that Glisters - Main quests - Kingdom Come Deliverance Game Guide

Begin by meeting three people in Sasau: the armsman Otto and the blacksmith Mikesh from the town of Sasau, and the blacksmith Zach, who lives near the Sasau monastery. Exhaust all dialogue options with each of these men (ask about other people and about the copper).

The person you should be interested in the most in Zach, who works south of the monastery (see screen above - Zacha works during the day). There are a couple ways you can make him admit his guilt:

  1. Find the supply of copper - this isn't easy. You have to break into the small shed near the blacksmith's workplace. This requires opening a very difficult lock. After finding the copper, you can confront the blacksmith.
  2. Talk to the blacksmith's son - he's about the same location during the day. You can try to impress him (7 points), intimidate (9 points) or fight him. If you pass any of these, you will be able to learn from him all about his father's copper. This will allow you to confront the blacksmith.
If youve managed to get the proof, you can confront Zach - Kingdom Come Deliverance: All that Glisters - Main quests - Kingdom Come Deliverance Game Guide

If you've managed to get the proof, you can confront Zach. There are two ways to do it:

Unique dialogue option - Try to impress (Zach has 8 points) or intimidate him (9 points). If you pass the test, you will get all the information needed. This will conclude the investigation, and you won't need to look into the quicksilver matter.

If you fail the unique dialogue option, or simply don't choose it, you will still be able to learn what you need, by completing a side quest called Rattled - you can find out more about that in a section of this guide dedicated to side quests. If you finish that quest successfully (by winning the duel) you'll be able to learn the vital information. This will conclude the investigation, and you won't need to look into the quicksilver matter.

Variant 2 - The quicksilver investigation

Here, the best idea is to begin by talking to Ulrich - Kingdom Come Deliverance: All that Glisters - Main quests - Kingdom Come Deliverance Game Guide

Here, the best idea is to begin by talking to Ulrich. He will suggest you spoke to the fresco painter. You can find him near the tavern in Sasau during the day. Completing the conversation with the painter will allow you to learn that you can meet the Overseer in the Sasau monastery. You can also do that right away.

The Overseer usually spends time in the southwest part of the monastery. He will advise you went to speak to Overseer's Hand, whom we've included in the screen above. Talk to him about the quicksilver. If you need to use a unique dialogue option, try intimidation, since he only has 5 points. Successful conversation with Overseer's Hand concludes the investigation - you won't need to look into the copper matter.

Meeting the engraver in Sasau

After concluding any of the two branches of the investigation, you can meet Tobias Feyfar (this time in Sasau) - Kingdom Come Deliverance: All that Glisters - Main quests - Kingdom Come Deliverance Game Guide

After concluding any of the two branches of the investigation, you can meet Tobias Feyfar (this time in Sasau). He will order you to meet the local engraver. That's master Jerome from the house south of the monastery. Talk to him to learn about his apprentice, Florian.

First of all, visit the bath and talk with the owner about all the subjects concerning Florian. Now go to the building where Florian is working (enter through the lower entrance, street side). The information can be obtained in two ways:

  1. Use a unique dialogue option - persuasion (Florian has 4 points) or impress (6 points). You will learn of Rapota.
  2. Talk to Florian about Esther - you will learn she was kidnapped, and the Damsel in Distress side quest (described in the Sasau Side Quests chapter of this guide). Only after you save the girl will you be able to continue the quest.

Finding and questioning Rapota

1 - Kingdom Come Deliverance: All that Glisters - Main quests - Kingdom Come Deliverance Game Guide
Florian will tell you that Rapota is following him all the time - Kingdom Come Deliverance: All that Glisters - Main quests - Kingdom Come Deliverance Game Guide

Florian will tell you that Rapota is following him all the time. You can go look for him right away, but if you want to be sure you'll find him, skip some time until 7 am. Rapota will be in the place shown on the screens above. Talk to him. Regardless of what you say, Rapota will take to his heels.

There are two possibilities - Kingdom Come Deliverance: All that Glisters - Main quests - Kingdom Come Deliverance Game Guide

There are two possibilities:

  1. You manage to catch Rapota - just as in the previous case of chasing Ulrich, you can try to tackle him with your horse to stop him.
  2. Rapota escapes - there will appear a camp icon on the map (see above). It's located northwest from the Sasau monastery. After you reach the place, you have to kill a few bandits - only then can you talk to Rapota.

A known bug makes it impossible to find Rapota after he flees. If that happens, reload the game and try again.

Regardless, you will catch Rapota one way or the other. You have to question him - use all dialogue options.

Reach the Skalitz mines

If Ulrich is still alive, you can meet him in Sasau and ask for help - Kingdom Come Deliverance: All that Glisters - Main quests - Kingdom Come Deliverance Game Guide

If Ulrich is still alive, you can meet him in Sasau and ask for help. This will automatically take you to the mine.

Regardless of that, go towards the entrance. There's a small camp in front of the entrance - if you're spotted, you will have to fight. You can try to fight, but it's recommended you enter the mines with full health. A better idea is to sneak around the enemies - preferably at night - or sprinting inside the mine. Proceed along the main tunnel until you reach the room with Jezhek of Ronow. A cut-scene will begin.

Meeting Jezhek of Ronow

The meeting with Jezhek can end in different ways - Kingdom Come Deliverance: All that Glisters - Main quests - Kingdom Come Deliverance Game Guide

The meeting with Jezhek can end in different ways:

  1. If Ulrich is with you, he will want to kill Jezhek, which you have to stop him from doing. You need at least 13 persuasion points in order to successfully use a unique dialogue option. Alternatively, you will have to kill Ulrich.
  2. If you have reached the mines alone, you will get straight into the business of arresting Jezhek. You can use persuasion, but you also need 13 points. Otherwise you have to fight Jezhek.

If any combat happens (either with Ulrich or Jezhek), it will be tricky. The room is small and the light is dim. Use the supports to shield yourself from attacks. If you have a bow, try standing in the corner shown above - you'll be hard to reach.

Ultimately, you have to talk to Jezhek and arrest him.

Finishing the quest

Go back to Rattay and talk to Sir Radzik - Kingdom Come Deliverance: All that Glisters - Main quests - Kingdom Come Deliverance Game Guide

Go back to Rattay and talk to Sir Radzik. You will learn that you have to question Jezhek. Go to Master Bernard first (he's either in the upper castle or near the practice arena) to take the cell key. Then go to the town hall. Use the door shown above (if they're closed, come back at a different hour, perhaps early afternoon).

After entering the town hall, find the stairs to the dungeon. Open the last cell with the key, and talk to Jezhek about every subject available. Go meet Radzik again to report and unlock a new main quest. You will be paid 175 groszy as a reward.
