Heroine Overview
You're welcome, my flawed pooch. Now fetch!
~ Alexia exploiting Cid.

Alexia Midgar is a supporting character in the action light novel, manga, and anime series The Eminence in Shadow. She is a student at Midgar Royal Spellsword Academya. When one of her classmates, Cid Kagenou, decided to fake confess her in order to add up to his "mob" character, expecting Alexia to reject her, she instead accepted him as her boyfriend, to his surprise. However she did to only annoy his fiance, Zenon Griffey. She eventually started to develop true romantic feelings as time following her kidnapping where she is rescued by Cid.

She is voiced by Kana Hanazawa in Japanese and by Olivia Swasey in English, who voiced other characters including Yukina Minato from BanG Dream! in 2nd Season and Elfiné Phillet from The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy.

Appearance[]

Alexia is a stunning teenage girl with captivating crimson-colored eyes and long, snow-white hair, often styled in pigtails secured with two dark grey ribbons. Her usual attire includes the female academy uniform, comprising a blazer jacket embellished with gold accents, a crisp white dress shirt, a navy-blue cummerbund, a plaid-patterned skirt, white thigh-high stockings, and knee-high boots adorned with crosscutting laces. In her casual wear, Alexia prioritizes comfort, often opting for a turtleneck along with shorts and long stockings, complemented by kick shoes. Alternatively, she may choose a dress with charming shoulder loops, frills adorning the bust, and a lengthened body that gracefully extends just above her ankles.

Personality[]

To many around her, Alexia appears as a charismatic and lovely girl. But in practice, she is concealing her true nature as a pampered and confrontational individual who perceives others as easily manipulated by money. Her dynamic with Cid reflects this, as she exploits their association to deflect unwanted advances. Rooted in envy and the pressure of comparison to her sister Iris, Alexia harbors a sadistic streak, deriving superiority from belittling those she deems inferior. However, her time with Cid unveils a softer side, fostering affection and admiration for him, evident in her distress upon her abduction. Despite her initial facade, Alexia's genuine benevolence surfaces as she prioritizes the safety of loved ones over her own. Observing Iris' descent into instability, Subsequent to the Bushin Festival, Alexia resolves to no longer remain a passive observer and endeavors to become resilient enough to advocate for her convictions. Yet, she alters her approach, shifting from mere sword practice to acquiring comprehensive knowledge encompassing her realm, delving into various disciplines, such as government, finance, jurisprudence, engineering, as well as ancient languages, to enrich her intellect and comprehend the rationale behind her actions in the safety of others. She perceives the necessity of earning the privilege to occupy that position and acknowledges that sometimes the path to such a role begins in realms where wielding a sword is irrelevant.

Arising from envy and constant comparison to her sister Iris, Alexia yearns for recognition based on her own merits. However, her time with Cid softens her demeanor, fostering affection and admiration. When kidnapped, her concern for Cid reveals her genuine compassion and willingness to sacrifice for loved ones. As Alexia progresses, Iris' mental instability worsens, prompting Alexia to intervene with enduring love. Post-Bushin Festival, Alexia rejects passivity, opting for self-improvement. Shifting focus from swordsmanship, she immerses herself in diverse disciplines to gain knowledge and legitimacy. Embracing non-combative approaches, she defends her beliefs and loved ones with a multifaceted strategy.
