He was worth fifty of you.
~ Casper defending his boss, Werner Ziegler, while insulting Mike Ehrmantraut, the former's killer.

Casper is a minor character in the crime drama series Better Call Saul, the prequel to Breaking Bad. He was a Croatian construction worker from Budapest, Hungary and a part of Werner Ziegler's team for the construction of Gustavo Fring's meth superlab.

He was portrayed by Stefan Kapičić.

Biography[]

Better Call Saul[]

Season 4[]

Casper and his crew arrive at a warehouse, now transformed into a living space for the duration of the superlab's construction. Casper quickly spots the beer bar. ("Piñata")

Season 5[]

With only half of the superlab completed, construction came to a halt due to Werner Ziegler’s disappearance. Casper and the rest of the workers were paid in full, though they were lied to about Ziegler being sent home—something they all knew wasn’t true. When Casper received his pay from Mike Ehrmantraut, he told Mike that Werner was worth fifty of him. ("Magic Man")

Season 6[]

In a forest in Germany, Casper is chopping wood when Lalo Salamanca arrives at his cabin. Sensing danger, Casper runs to hide in a nearby barn. Armed with a pistol, Lalo follows him inside. Casper ambushes Lalo, striking him with the blunt end of his axe, leaving Lalo struggling to breathe. Under interrogation, Lalo reveals he tracked Casper down through the Lucite block he gave to Werner’s widow, Margarethe. Lalo manages to regain control, slashing Casper’s face with a razor blade and chopping off his left foot with the axe. He instructs Casper to use his belt to stop the bleeding, saying they are going to "have a talk." ("Axe and Grind")

Off-screen, Casper reveals to Lalo that Gus used Werner Ziegler to build a massive meth lab under the laundry. Though it's unclear if Lalo spared Casper, it's likely that he killed him to keep his identity hidden. Even if Lalo didn’t kill him, Casper would have probably died from blood loss. Lalo later discusses what he learned from Casper in a video message to Eladio Vuente. ("Plan and Execution")
