Let's discuss what is variety in art.

The challenge this week from Laura at I am the Diva was to do a tangle with "No Strings Attached". We were to create a tile, zendala, or ZIA without using a string. I had a lot of fun with this one and took 3 different approaches. We have recently been catching up with the first four series of "The Big Bang Theory", a program which makes me laugh out loud. 16) In this picture, the artist used both extreme unity and variety to portray an image that means "one as a family". The variety of shapes and colors used to create the bodies of the family members made it stand out. However, the when the shapes and colors come together, the viewer can see the family as one.

VARIETY The variation of any art element or art concept in a repetitious visual structure.

This wonderful watercolour art work shows the different varieties of colour in the sky to show that it's either a sunrise/sunset view.

For the Principles of Design I did balance, contrast, emphasis, movement, pattern, and rhythm. The hardest I thought was rhythm because you had to combine movement and pattern together.
