But did you know that this could make it worse and take longer to release? A LOT of those knots are from tense, cramping muscles. And your neck muscles in particular are fairly sensitive and will cramp even harder if they feel threatened. So you’re very best bet is to take a far gentler approach. 1️⃣ Start with deep breathing down in your diaphragm. This can get control over the “fight or flight” response that causes you to “neck breathe”. 2️⃣ Do gentle, easy stretching at about 50-60% tension. Don’t force it. If you massage or roll, it should feel gentle, too. 3️⃣ Shoulder blade circles can activate the opposing muscles, like Stretching, Stretches To Release Tension, Flight Response, Neck Muscles, Muscle Knots, Knot Out, Shoulder Knots, Deep Breathing, Shoulder Muscles
