Do not spray off with water. To prolong the life of the rug, keep in dry sheltered area out of the elements. When possible, keep away from water. The doormat fibers can darken when wet. This doormat is an outdoor doormat but it will last much longer and look nicer if it is kept out of the elements as much as possible. The doormat can shed during shipping. We recommend opening your doormat package outside. Once you open your package and shake the doormat off, shedding shouldn’t be an issue after that. NOTE: Each doormat is unique. Since coir is a natural fiber, some fibers can be slightly lighter, darker, or have variances of colors in the mat. Fibers can be thicker or thinner in areas. There can also be chunks of husk in the fibers. Cracking can appear in some doormats with colored paint. This can occur because the doormat is a porous surface. It can be more noticeable in lighter colors. When a color is painted on a dark porous surface the background can show cracks.
