We are looking to hire a 0-1 Revenue and Growth Product Manager to play a pivotal role in identifying growth opportunities, experimenting with different strategies, and iterating rapidly to achieve product-market fit. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact and shape the future of our company. As a RnG Product Manager, you will own (a) Off-app and on-app customer lifecycle management, (b) Inbound traffic generation and (c) Revenue products Some of the areas of focus include: - Customer acquisition and Onboarding flows - First Time User Experience - Customer Referrals  - SEO / App Store Optimization - Push Notifications / Email marketing products - Dormant reactivations Must haves: - 4+ years of experience in product management preferably in a startup or early-stage company. - Experience in B2C growth - customer acquisition, onboarding, activation, retention, funnels etc. - Keen eye for design & strong analytical ability - Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong bias for action - Excellent communication & collaboration skills Big Plus, if you have: - Applied Behavioral Sciences to understand customer needs and addressing them - Ability to run on your own database queries and analytics - Implemented data instrumentation and built dashboards - Worked closely with customers to understand their motivations This is an immediate job opening with an on-site role in Bangalore. Good Initiative by RBI in the payment space ! RBI has released " Framework on Alternative Authentication Mechanisms for Digital Payment Transactions - DRAFT" Why move away from SMS based OTP verification ? A. Financial - Cost involved in sending a OTP {10-18 paise per message} B. Time bound - A transaction should be completed within the Gateway timeout , max time might be 15 minutes C. SMS drop - Message sending failure leading to using resend OTP or get OTP via IVR  D. Options - Availability of other options - SSOs, PassKeys, Network Auth , Device Fingerprint E. Convenience - More options and better user experience Highlights from the draft proposal released by RBI https://lnkd.in/gBUeKkJC 👉 Mandatory Additional Factor of Authentication (AFA): All digital payment transactions must be authenticated with an additional factor(s) of authentication, unless exempted otherwise. 👉 Dynamically Created Authentication: For digital payment transactions (except card present transactions), at least one factor of authentication must be dynamically created. This means the factor is generated specifically for the transaction and cannot be reused. 👉 Robust Authentication: The first factor of authentication and the AFA must be from different categories (e.g., something the user knows vs. something the user has). 👉 Risk-Based Approach: Issuers can adopt a risk-based approach to determine the appropriate AFA based on factors like customer risk profile, transaction value, and channel of origination. 👉 Transaction Alerts: Issuers should provide near real-time alerts to customers for all eligible digital payment transactions. 👉 Customer Consent: Explicit consent is required before enabling any new factor of authentication for the customer. According to moneycontrol.com, Zomato's AOV (Average Order Value) in FY23 was ₹407. I was curious to #guesstimate what the current AOV could be while using their newly introduced LIVE order count (around 11:48 P.M.)! As per their Q4 FY24 report, GOV (Gross Order Value) was ₹8,439 Cr which translates to ₹93.76 Cr per day average. Now, accounting for about 22.6L daily orders (Present Day), AOV comes up to ~ ₹415! This is an approximate 2% increase from their previous year’s AOV. Ironically, their AOV also grew by 2% between FY22 & FY23! Additionally, as per the same Q4FY24 report (decoded to per-month metrics) Average order value generated per active restaurant, per month ~ ₹1,04,000 Average order value delivered per active delivery partner, per month ~ ₹ 67,000 #guesstimatemondays

IDFC FIRST Bank Prof. Ashish Das' detailed examination of bank service charges has made us all aware of the issue of fee disparity within the industry. The report opened up that some banks are operating outside the bounds of regulatory norms, resulting in overcharging for basic services. I think we are lacking the much needed greater oversight and accountability. Moving forward, it is imperative that we, as consumers, talk openly about fair and transparent pricing practices that prioritise our interests. By collectively demanding reform and supporting banks like Idfc First Bank that uphold ethical banking standards, we can work towards a more equitable financial landscape that benefits all stakeholders.

Number reallocation is one of major bottleneck in Digital lending. This is because when a number is reallocated it is not properly de-linked to various entities like Bureau, account aggregators etc. It thus calls for fraudulent practices which are followed by the customers. Telecom companies must look into this and must stop number reallocation. National Payments Corporation Of India (NPCI) Guidelines on Merchant Acquisition for BHIM Aadhaar Pay Here's a breakdown of the key points: - Banks Responsible for BHIM Aadhaar Pay Merchants - Banks are fully responsible for onboarding and managing merchants for BHIM Aadhaar Pay (digital payments using Aadhaar biometrics). - This includes direct onboarding or via approved aggregators/partners. Key Bank Requirements - Defined policies for merchant acquisition. - Agreements with all involved parties (merchant, aggregator, etc). - Thorough merchant underwriting processes. - Ongoing merchant portfolio monitoring and risk mitigation. - Merchant training on BHIM Aadhaar Pay. - Oversight and governance for third-party agents involved. Additional Rules - Assigning the correct Merchant Category Code (MCC) based on the nature of the business. Specific MCCs related to cash services are not allowed for BHIM Aadhaar Pay. - Cash withdrawal transactions are strictly prohibited on BHIM Aadhaar Pay. - Banks must ensure compliance with Aadhaar regulations and NPCI guidelines. Here’s your daily dose of business news: Payments infrastructure company Infibeam has signed an agreement to acquire a 54.1% stake in Nasdaq-listed digital content and e-commerce marketplace Rediff.com for a sum of INR25 Cr. The majority stake acquisition in Rediff.com marks Infibeam’s foray into the consumer-facing digital financial services industry as an aggregator. Hedge Fund Elliott Investment Management L.P. said that NVIDIA Stock is in a ‘Bubble’ and its investors are in a ‘Bubble Land’ and its rally is driven by ‘Overhyped AI’. Elliot also said in a letter to its investors that AI is ‘Overhyped with many applications not ready for primetime’. Delhivery has announced that it will be providing dark stores to E-Commerce platforms to shorten their delivery cycle to 2 to 4 hours. Delhivery would be setting dark stores for a few ‘narrow categories’ which would require rapid deliveries. It has said that multiple companies can share the same dark stores to share costs. Market Regulator SEBI has started leveraging AI to process IPO Documents and annual reports like REIT, InvIT. While SEBI officers do some manual checks and validation, 80% of work is done by AI. An interesting take away for the BFSI sector from the union budget: Bank branch expansion in North East India. The government’s plan to expand bank branches in the North-East is largely a signal for big banks to step in and open branches in the region. Being one of the credit-challenged regions, often impacted by natural calamities, lenders charge very high interest rates in the North East. According to information from the central bank (2022), the physical banking access in the North-East is lowest with only 19 branches per 1,000 square kilometres. Despite the rapid growth in the payments sector, the RBI's reluctance to allow small-ticket loans—due to concerns about low deposits, high NPAs, and limited credit card penetration—still restricts access to credit for new-to-credit consumers, leaving many financially underserved. It is time for the RBI to reconsider allowing payments banks to enter the small-ticket loans market. With a track record of profitability, this step could drive broader financial inclusion and serve as a pathway for payments banks to become small finance banks, ultimately providing much-needed credit to those who need it most.
