Regal Birds of Prey

Birds of prey (raptors) feed on other animals. The term "raptor" comes from the Latin word 'rapere' (meaning to seize by force). These birds are characterized by keen vision that allows them to detect prey during flight, and by powerful talons & beaks. “We must not make a scarecrow of the law; Setting it up to fear the birds of prey, and let it keep one shape till custom make it their perch, and not their terror.” ~William Shakespeare (1564-1616) English dramatist, playwright and poet.
