The most challenging aspect of my art practice is achieving a specific tone of visual voice. With a traditional art education, it came naturally to draw and paint in an academic style. Despite years of effort to break free from it, I’ve struggled to adopt a loose, childlike style that I envision. Even as a child, I couldn’t draw or paint in that manner.
