This image is a result of my first real experience with The Photographer's Ephemeris. My friend John had figured out that the moon would rise at sunset next to Mt. Hood if we shot it from the west side. We hiked the 4.5 miles up to the old zig zag fire lookout and shot sunset. Moon Disclaimer: Before the moon police get going, I shot a separate exposure of the moon with my 70-200 and blended it back into the image so it was closer to how it looked to the naked eye.
