Manchester Pride Parade 2024

The atmosphere was great and, despite a short shower of rain a g wonderful time was had. Greater Manchester Police officers were on hand to ensure the safety and security of all. Prince Charles Visits HMS Bronnington in 1992
https://flic.kr/p/2q4gK6L | Prince Charles Visits HMS Bronnington in 1992 | His Majesty King Charles III, then HRH The Prince of Wales, visits his old command HMS Bronnington during a visit to Salford in 1992. HMS was berthed in Salford Quays for some years before moving to Merseyside. A minesweeper, she was laid down in 1951 and decommissioned in 1988. Stockport County Winners Parade

The parade began at Stockport Town Hall and finished at the club’s Edgeley Park stadium. The sun shone and the colourful parade was enjoyed by all. Manchester City Parade 2019
Ederson and Vincent Kompany on the team bus. Yesterday, 20 May 2019, saw Manchster City Football Club parade their trophies through the streets of the city. The parade was lead by the women’s team with their FA Cup and League Cup, closely followed by the men with their four domestic honours. Team High Sheriff Event
Mayor Andy Burnham. High Sheriff of Greater Manchester Dr. Robina Shah held the latest of her Team High Sheriff events at UKFast in Hulme on 5 February 2019. Mahdlo Rugby Bash
Rugby League legend Barrie McDermott take a tumble. A team of police officers and staff from Oldham took on a 13-hour touch rugby marathon to raise money for a youth centre in the town on Saturday 26 January 2018. The 13 Hour Rugby Bash saw the police team take on teams from across the community, including a Legends team which included Barrie McDermott, Kevin Sinfield and Richard Russell. www.gmp.police.uk

The parade made its way through the streets in fabulous Manchester sunshine. Large numbers of fans turned out to cheer on their team. The team, staff and guests travelled the route in three open topped busses. Rochdale Anniversary Celebrations
Tom Hingley, former frontman of th Inspiral Carpets. This year is the 160th anniversary of the founding of a police force in Rochdale. Two days of celebration have taken place in the town centre. The celebration took place as part of Rochdale Feel Good Festival. GMP Abbey Hey Baton Relay Race
British long jumper Abigail Irozuru presents a medal. Today saw the second running of the Greater Manchester Police Abbey Hey Baton Relay Race. The race took place in Gorton’s Debdale Park with students from the local primary schools taking part. PCSO Wayne McKay and Barry Harrison of Abbey Hey Primary Academy organized the event. The Lord Mayor of Manchester and international athlete Abigail Irozuru were on hand to presents the winners with medals and trophies. www.gmp.polce.uk

Julia Goulding Supports "It's Not Okay" Week of Action
Coronation Street star Julia Goulding called in at Bury Police Station the other day to lend her support to the “It’s Not Okay” campaign. Julia’s character Shona Ramsey is a victim of sexual exploitation. She meet members of the multi-agency team dealing with the issue in Bury and members of Bury FC Community Trust team who are supporting the launch of a charter to protect young people in Sport. www.itsnotokay.co.uk

Cash for Kids - Superhero Day 2017
Key 103's Gemma Atkinson. Greater Manchester Police has again supported Key 103’s Cash For Kids Superhero Day. The Force played its part on the day with traffic officers escorting the superhero convoy and members of the Tactical Aid Unit assisting Superboy and Batman in arrest of supervillain Bane who had stolen all the funds raised by the charity.

Retrak Cup Final
A Manchester music legend recently presented the trophy in a charity football match played to raise money for local charity Retrak. Rochdale police were beaten 5-2 by Oldham Council at the Etihad Campus. Happy Mondays and Black Grape star Bez presented the cup and donated a pair of his famous maracas to be auctioned for the charity. www.gmp.police.uk
