Darth Sidious, born Sheev Palpatine and also simply known as The Emperor, was a male human Dark Lord of the Sith and Emperor of the Galactic Empire, with his reign lasting from 19 BBY to 4 ABY. Rising to power in the Galactic Senate as the senator of Naboo, the secretive Sith Lord cultivated two identities, Sidious and Palpatine, using both to further his political career and deceive his way into accomplishing his goal. Palpatine raised his spidery arms toward Luke: blinding bolts of energy coruscated from his fingers shot across the room like sorcerous lightning and tore through the boys insides....Luke raised his arms to deflect the bolts. Initially he was successfulthe lightning rebounded from his touch harmlessly into the walls. Soon though the shocks came with such speed and power they coursed over and into him and he could only shrink before them convulsed with pain his knees buckling his powers…
