Basically all the creators on here I’ve seen make built-in cabinets, spend hundreds on poplar wood for trim. While I’d love to use that, my penny pincher side of me wouldn’t allow that. - I need to give myself grace though because most cabinets in even newly built homes have composite or plywood kitchen cabinets 😅  I bought a sheet of 3/4” plywood and ripped it into 2 1/2” trim boards (to match the existing cabinet trim). Once my new addition was flush with the older cabinets, I used 1/8” plywood to cover the new and the old trim boards.
