Masahiro Inoue

Masahiro Inoue (井上 正大, Inoue Masahiro) is a Japanese actor who portrays Tsukasa Kadoya/Kamen Rider Decade in Kamen Rider Decade, with his most recent reprisal of the role in Kamen Rider Gotchard: The Future Daybreak. Outside of Kamen Rider, Inoue is known for his portrayal of Jinga in GARO: Gold Storm Flight and Fang of God: JINGA.

Inoue is also the representative director of AIC RIGHTS, which helped produce his independent Tokusatsu project Sentika F8ABA6 Jisariz, in which he also stars in as the the main protagonist Jisariz.^[1]

Biography[]

Inoue debuted as an actor in 2008, where he played Keigo Atobe in the Prince of Tennis musicals. One year later, he landed the lead role of Tsukasa in Kamen Rider Decade, where he would continue to play the role in several future crossovers of the character.

From 2015 to 2018, Inoue starred as Jinga in the Garo franchise, portraying the main antagonist in the Yami o Terasu Mono continuity.

He later portrayed Kensei Sumeragi in Road59, a multimedia project by Bushiroad. The project also stars Syuya Sunagawa and Yuki Kimisawa.

In January 2023, he was appointed as the representative director of AIC RIGHTS.^[2]

Inoue was announced to be a guest for Power Morphicon 2024, making this his first convention appearance in the United States.^[3]

Personal Life[]

• He is a 1st dan black belt in Taekwondo and in 2015 he demonstrated his skills as a Taekwondo player on Fuji TV's famous Japanese variety show "VS Arashi".^[4][5]
• He announced his marriage to a Sailor Moon actress Jamie Natsuki on December 2016, with their son born on April 17, 2017.^[6] However they divorced on May 8, 2020, which was confirmed by Inoue himself on Twitter. ^[7][8][9]
• Inoue had watched Kamen Rider Kiva before entering the entertainment industry, which later inspired him to begin acting and audition for Decade.

Financial Dispute[]

In 2022, Inoue publicly tweeted a screenshot of a text message exchange on LINE between him and Decade co-star Kimito Totani. The messages revealed that Inoue had lent money to Totani, but the latter had yet to return it due to lack of personal funds at the time. After Inoue said that the money was already overdue from when Totani promised to return it, Totani retorted that he would have already done so had he had the money. Inoue had considered legal action, but was informed by a lawyer that the amount of money Totani had borrowed was not enough for a lawsuit. After Inoue threatened to make their text messages public if Totani did not return the money, he did not receive another response from Totani for an entire month, resulting in the tweet. Several hours later, Totani publicly apologized and returned the money.^[10]

Notes[]

• As with Inoue's role as Jinga in Garo: Goldstorm - Sho, it would become a joke to say that he entered the "World of GARO" during talk shows. According to him, he signed a Decade KamenRide card for Garo director Keita Amamiya.
• In 2015, Inoue was among the fans whom played the arcade game Narerunda! Kamen Rider Drive, receiving a souvenir card depicting himself as Kamen Rider Drive.^[23]
• For his reppearance in Kamen Rider Zi-O, Inoue wore a brown wig due to his actual hair dyed to silver.
• Although, Inoue had stated that his appearance on Kamen Rider Zi-O would be his final reprisal of the role, he returned in 2021 for Rider Time: Zi-O VS Decade & Decade VS Zi-O and in 2024 for Kamen Rider Gotchard: The Future Daybreak.
  • Inoue would express his disappointment with Decade Complete Form21's design and ridicule it. ^[24][25]
• When rumors of Kamen Rider Legend began circulating, this sparked speculation from fans that Inoue would be reprising his role as Tsukasa Kadoya in Gotchard. In July 2023, during a livestream, Inoue acknowledged the speculations but did not further elaborate.^[26] He further teased fans with ambiguous tweets about Gotchard and the upcoming Kamen Rider Legend^[27][28], eventually revealing that Kamen Rider Legend was a different character. Inoue recorded brief lines for Decade, who appeared in the special in a brief cameo.
