My grandmas life long dream was to ride in a hot air balloon over the Serengeti. For her 70th birthday, part of my family and I got to be with her as that dream came true in an 8 day trip through Tanzania. While we were in Tanzania we saw hundreds of Elephants, or Elleys as our guide called them. I fell in love with Elleys so I had to make two.

In Yuanxing Liang’s folkloric sculptures, the hair of his figures become their own whimsical landscapes. Liang, formerly a game character designer, is now a full time artist, often working within fantastical figurative sculpture.
