Flock of Light, by Studio Toer, transforms from a light and airy artistic design piece at daytime, to a swarm of bright lights at night. Flock of Light comes in two sizes: 11 and 21, after the number of light sources. Both sizes are made from brass cups, bronze wires and semi-transparent polycarbonate diffusers. Hugely dramatic, light as a feather and distinctly Dutch, the Random Light (2001) by Bertjan Pot began as a modernist craft project of sorts. After making failed attempts at knitting fiberglass as a means of creating structure, Pot resorted to coiling a strand of epoxy-dipped fiberglass around a large balloon in varying patterns. Once the form had completely dried, the balloon was popped, leaving behind a dramatic globe-shaped form that serves as the diffuser for this stunningly airy pendant…

The Raimond light is a perfect sphere of mathematical ingredients punctuated by tiny LED lights. It is specially detailed to spread warm white light in every direction and looking at the light feels like staring into the soft glow of a starry night. Inspired by the geodesic dome, designed by Buckminster Fuller, the Raimond lights are the result of almost forty years of research and dedication of mechanical engineer and self-taught designer Raimond Puts (1937 – 2012).
