History

The Face face was an operative of Imperial Japan active during World War II. Ruling from his castle in the Valley of Death, the Face earned his name due to the fact that his face was withered to look like a skull. How his face became horribly disfigured remains unknown. However, as he developed a lethal gas that caused the same disfigurement in its victims it is entirely possible that he was exposed to a dose of his own gas and managed to survive. By the fall of 1944 he had a contingent of Japanese soldiers preparing massive doses of the gas to unleash against the enemies of Japan.

The Destroyer happened upon a dying American soldier who had escaped from the Face who told him about his ghastly plans before dying. The Destroyer next set out for the Valley of Death where he was captured and brought before the Face who told him of his plan to send a bomber loaded with the gas to kill a massive amount of Americans. After this, the Destroyer proceeded to escape from the Face's forces, though the Face himself was shot and killed amid the confusion. The Destroyer next hijacked the plane with its killer cargo and unleashed the gas into the Valley of Death, ending its threat.
