Honor Sword of Clan Yashida

The swords where crafted by the supreme swordsmith Masamune over 800 years ago. They represent the soul of the Clan Yashida, all that they were and all they are yet to be and they're reverence for Duty and Honor ^[1] They are to be worn not by Lord of the Clan but by the Samurai who best exemplifies those qualities. So after Logan killed Shingen in honorable combat by fighting for the good of others, for right, for the truth; while Shingen fought for greed and ultimately for survival; Mariko gave the Sword to Logan.^[2]

Presumably the longer sword shown in Wolverine #1 is a katana and the shorter one is a wakizashi.
