Jody Choate (Earth-616)

Jody Choate was a covert ops member of the US Military, embroiled in a far-ranging scheme to use the experiments of Doctor Ted Sallis to create mutant soldiers with a mission to kill a noted foreign leader whose popularity in the US exceeded that of the American President. Choate was fanatically devoted to his cause, and ran afoul of Sallis' mutated form, The Man-Thing, and various supporting characters from his prior series, including a reporter who had stumbled upon this conspiracy. Though Choate himself did not survive, the attempt to kill the leader went forward, with the implication that the orders came from the very top all along.^{[citation needed]}
