The city of Khemi, set on the estuary of the Styx,[1] was the religious capital and the greatest port and city of Stygia during the Hyborian Age.[3]
History
Age of Acheron[]
Circa 15,500 BC,[4][5] thousand years after the Great Cataclysm. Stygians from Khemi established an outpost at the embouchure of the Tybor expanded up-river, enslaving or destroying the small unclassified tribes it encountered, and founded Acheron.[4]
Circa 13,000 BC, when Acheron still existed, Ptah-Mekri, high priest of Set and adept of the Black Ring, died. His body was preserved in a hall of the dead in the Forbidden Temple of Set, one of the Black Pyramids.[6]
Hyborian Age of Conan[]
Siege of Khemi[]
Circa 10,000 BC, the King of Argos decided to end the Stygian slave trade, and laid siege to Khemi. Stygian sorcery kept the walls of Khemi impregnable, while the rains poured upon the Army of Argos for two months, along with hunger and dysentery. The walls of Khemi were eventually expected to fall quickly after a catapult was set in a strategical position.[7]Points of Interest
